We're going to win the league.
That was the Sterling we all know tonight.
He's got the ability to terrorise any full back but quite often he lacks the self belief to carry this side.
I look at the likes of Hazard, Bale and Netmar etc and they all have an arrogance in their ability. They believe that they will beat any defender and will run at a defender when ever given the chance.
At times I think Sterling lacks this and he could be up there with the Neymar and Hazard's if he started to develop a more ruthless streak.
The fact he is only 21, is going to be managed by Pep next season, and I already think he can reach the elite level is a testament to how highly I rate him.
I've watched Chelsea v PSG and Arsenal v Barcelona and those were proper games.
You can only beat what's put in front of you. And it's a very good night but the standard of the performance has to be measured against the opponent. That is all I am saying.
That'll do
If we'd have put them away we could have played the kids in the second leg, lolIm disappointed we only got 3. Aguero missed 2 and Yaya 1
Or he could give it to someone else and ask them to hit him with it!We played a team that has lost one european home tie in donkeys years , and we played them off the park , if we win on sunday and the dippers play shite , no doubt you will post the similar negative views .Good football teams do not allow the oppostion to play , and we were good tonight. Suggest you put the spade down now.
Totally agree.Today's set up showed that Fernando has a place at city and quietly went about his business and shielded the defense.
...and Hart with a great save.Look at that...Aguero Silva and Toure get the goals...just like the good old days
....still couldn't run though :) I thought he had one of his best games for us tonight, and he still wasn't our best player.Yaya rolled back the years.
Such a sad comment, on a very good night. I'm not surprised though.Because we were playing a poor team. Yaya rolled back the years in the 90th minute. On the ball he is class.
Even sadder comment.I think Newcastle would have beaten Kiev.
Hard to argue.Fernandinho has to be the best £30m we've ever spent.
No the rags have won there.First time an English side has won at Kiev in CL!
^This.DON'T CHANGE THE TEAM ON SUNDAY... Simple
Tonight was the perfect remedy after a rough couple of months. It's a result to be savoured, to be enjoyed. Having read through the thread up until this point it's hard to fathom what it will take to cheer some fans up. If you can't feel the joy after a win like tonight, a win that puts us in the box seat for a quarter final place, then you're not doing it right.Reading this thread has made me realise: if we'd have won every title going since 01/09/08, some of our supporters would be moaning that we hadn't lobbied hard enough to create more competitions.
Ultimately, that must be a desperate and pitiful world to inhabit.
Thought the ref was very "lenient" in a good way to keep the game flowing. There were a few challenges flying in that would have got a yellow card from some officials and yet weren't even whistled up.
He also seemed to be smiling and talking to the players a lot. Wish there were more like him.
this is what happens when you play the correct players in the correct formation
we played exceptionally well and full credit to MP and the players for that......
