It will take 90+ points this season. One good thing is the goals scored is far better than our rivals and may well be the difference on that final day.

It won't be that many unless one of us Arse or Chelsea beat the other two in the return matches, although it wouldn't surprise ma to see the top three all with 86+ points each
The title will be decided via the three team mini league, but with Liverpool having to play the top three at home, although they won't win the Prem, they may be the curve ball
This won't happen, arsenal will drop off imo, but we've never had 3 teams finish on 86+ and only a few times (3 I think) had two teams reach that in 1 season and this season is an open one.

People keep saying they expect Arsenal to drop off, yet there is no sign they will
They have a strong squad, no matter what is said, and they've learned how to grind out results (look at their last two games)
I know what you're saying that there has never been a season with three teams with 86+ points, but this is an exceptional season and I believe very few points will be dropped by ourselves Chelsea and Arsenal in the remaining 18 matches, which is why the mini league (plus Liverpool) will be crucial

Not a chance it will go that high.

Too many points have already been dropped to anticipate 90+ points to take the title. It is possible, but unlikely if we look at the consistency of top teams in the first half of the season. I think it's more likely to be 80-85.

IMO 80 pts will win it.

We have 44 points at the moment so need 36 more.

We have 9 home and 9 away games left.

I think we'll win every home game which will give us a further 27 pts (taking us to 71 pts ).

Meaning we 'll need 9 points from 9 away games to be champions. Which is 3 wins .

Opinion only.

I said it last week they key to winning the league this year will be winning the mini league of the top 8 teams, at the moment we are well ahead, BUT we haven't played many away yet, so our away form in these games will be crucial.

We need to beat Chelsea to leave that pair of games neutral, draw or win the rest, and we'll be champions imho, draws are good because our totals against the rest will be 4 points each, except Chelsea 3, and would give us a minimum of 27 points from these 14 games (7 wins, 6 draws, 1 defeat), and 6 of the other 7 would have taken only 1 point off us.

However I think we'll win at least 2 away, and draw 2 or 3 others, giving us 29/30 points if we beat Chelsea.

The rest of the games should then take care of themselves really, though almost everyone will suffer the odd setback, be it a surprise home draw like both arsenal yesterday, and us last week nearly managed, or a surprise away defeat, though I'm hoping we've had all ours now.

I think 85+ will win it, so we still need to more or less match the first half of the season, by no means certain, but certainly very possible.

Arsenal are on track for 85.5 points from a purely mathmatical scenario.

If they maintain form then for me it will take 86 points to win it.

I expect we will have to replicate the 18 wins and a draw at home and a further 17 points away.

Hull, Norwich, Palace and Newcastle will account for 12 of them

One win and two draws from rags, Spurs Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton.

Job done!

There were signs yesterday, they seriously struggled to beat Cardiff, and until some fairly w@nk goalkeeping in the 88th minute they might not have (he should have pushed the ball wide for a corner).

There were signs when we played Palace, but we ground out a win
Mertesacker missed two absolute sitters for Arsenal

As I pointed out in the post below, but we didn't leave it so late, nor did we need a helping hand from a mistake (well 2 hands in fact). All I was saying was that there were signs yesterday, just like there were with us against Palace, but this happens when loads of games come at once, and on this occasion we both came through with 3 points.

We have a rest this weekend relatively speaking, a good time to rotate (and no I'm not taking it for granted), but Arsenal have Spurs, so won't be able to rest people really, and it easily could go to a replay as well (fingers crosses, and perhaps extra time), and I know we have the semi to come, but we should be capable of doing the job at home.

We also have players to come back fresh (and hopefully fully fit).

The race for the title will go down to the wire this year. We will need to at least match our home results of the title winning season.
As it will be tight I believe that 80 points may be enough especially if we beat our rivals in head to head games.
