Premier League meeting to discuss salary cap?

The premier league will never go for it. All the critisicm of us and money when the premier league was built on money. The other top leagues in Europe will see this as a grab to attract the best players again.

The premier league is the biggest league in the world making the most money and is the richest it has ever been mate, what sort of an idiot wants to change that system?

The ones on the way down is the correct answer ;)
English football has never been stronger. Attendances are breaking records at all levels including non-league. The international team is at its strongest since 1966 and English clubs are dominant in Europe once again. Most of this is driven by the Premier League. Perhaps more money could be trickled down to smaller clubs from the broadcasters but the sheer global interest in the Premier League benefits all of English football. Welcome to Wrexham wouldn't have happened in any other country. Overseas investors are queueing up to pump money into clubs. Very few clubs are "going bust" and those that are are because of bent owners and that has always happened in football.
The proposed changes are being driven by the greedy owners of a few clubs who are envious of City and want to line their own pockets. The Glazers and FSG couldn't care less about English football and our fans. If LFC and MUFC had any values as clubs they would have invested in their local communities but these two clubs in particular do virtually nothing locally. Look at the state of the Anfield area and compare it to what has happened in East Manchester. I don't trust a single word these twats say.

UEFA are amost certainly looking to implement this as well. La Liga already has a salary limit on clubs, although it's not a flat cap.

I don't see the threat of the Arabian league with regards to wages as a genuine thing.
I hope not, but in light of a lack of a European Super League, they may draw players (especially the greedier, get rich now tyoes; or posterior of career ones). Prestige is hard to build. History too (ask any old 15-year-old treble winning club).

Regardless of why. About time. Clubs can’t keep on paying players more and more wages, bonuses, and agent fees. There has to be a stop to this at some point. Apart from the PL and Real Madrid, where are the players going to get similar wages? Not Germany, not Spain, not Italy. If they want to go to the Middle East, play there, earn more money, let them.

As football fans we’ve been asking for a player wage cap for years. Now people are more upset about losing players instead of welcoming a wage cap.

People said the same thing about the Chinese league a few years ago.

Agree totally, if the cap placed is fair and balanced and not a load of shit like ffp was.

It's bizzare people would take issue with this.
