Proper Fish n Chips

Rick Stein's chippy in Padstow, Cornwall. Not as expensive as you would think, either.

Jack Spratts on Hollins Rd in Oldham is a good chippy . They always fry fresh fish to order .

Armstrongs in Shaw is another decent chippy , including their jumbo cod which measures two feet in length . Ideal for growing lads like myself . ;-)

Ive found Spratts hit n miss,
Village Chippy in Failsworth has always hit the spot for me in that area,
Or go into Milnrow and near the Tim Bobbin on the other side of the road is Davids chippy, spot on there, 2 very good fryers in there.

Bizzie Lizzie's in Skipton is good if you are out that way. As is Whelans in Lytham.

Both over rated IMO, very busy but not the quality i was expecting.

The Gold Medal cafe in Ashton Town Centre. Their Fish n Chips are really nice. the gravy is also excellent.

Great call.

Best bargain chippy is Andertons in Salford, £1.50 special every day pie, chips n gravy or curry. Not massive portions and not brilliant but what a bargain!

The English chippy near to COMS, I think its called Jims, just off Mill Street set back next to a bookies not far from the Crusty Cob who incidently make the best meat and poatoe pies!

How far from mill street? I dont know that one
