You are correct on both counts sir.

Thank You - had many a nice fish and chips from there !

So have i. Many a time when i've had to drive to the match from work (a rarity) i've parked up outside Tony's, got my pudding, chips, peas, gravy and a tin of vimto and watched Miles Platting go by while troughing. Even Wordsworth would have difficulty painting a prettier picture than that.

The English chippy near to COMS, I think its called Jims, just off Mill Street set back next to a bookies not far from the Crusty Cob who incidently make the best meat and poatoe pies!
The best fish and chips are from Clayton 10 minute walk from Eastlands on
Midloathian street near Banks street if its still open,it is on Google earth.
The lad that runs it was from Ladybarn.
Fish and chips to die for!

When you lot come up to Blackpool in October Stay of the prom and the shit food served there and try The Cottage Chippy

Special mention for the Bispham Kitchen on Red Bank Road in Bispham too. Not sure they do takeaways though, but the fish and chips are bang on. Not to mention the homemade cakes as well.

Someone mentioned The Dolphin in Reddish which is well worth a visit, although a mate of mine that went there a lot reckons they've skimped on the portions in recent times and last time I spoke to him about it he'd sacked it off.

If you're ever in Padstow it would be criminal not to pop into Rick Stein's chippy. Admittedly it's quite expensive but don't let that put anyone off. His deli just down the road does jars of piccalilli to die for.

Agree with this. Rick's in Padstow is superb, all freshly cooked. However to quote a previous poster, The Raven in Whitby must be the best in the world, long queue's but worth it. Stein featured this on his round the world tour, it was his last call and stated there were none better. In general I've found that Yorkshire does the best fish and chips and they mainly use haddock.

The dolphin is a bit chewy for me and won't fit on the plastic tray - stick with the haddock.
