Radio 2 - who's it aimed at?

It would be interesting to see their listening figures over the last few years. They must surely have gone down following their changes and target audience.

They've decided to put the radio on in my office at work now and quite quickly burnt through the 5 songs "heart" play and are now onto Radio 2. We get blessed with Vernon Kay chatting shite, followed by Jeremy Vine trying to tackle the serious matters, which today went from Gaza/Israel to falling from ladders and then Walt Disney and now we get Scott Mills. An absolute fucking treat. They have a wider music collection at least, but it's headphones in listening to my own playlist!
If you're using a DAB radio, try finding Happy Radio. It's based in South Manchester and has the old Key 103 presenters on
If you're searching on Alexa, ask it to.play "Happy radio skill"

As a FOC my main station is Boom which has a nice mix of music not chosen by a computer driven by algorithms.
It's on DAB+ and online.

To my horror, I find myself enjoying Tony Blackburn early on a Saturday morning playing music from the 60s. Sign that it's nearly time to check out.
Tony does SOTS at 6-8am on Saturday.

At 8.00 a programme called "My Generation" starts on Boom Radio hosted by ex pirate radio and Piccadilly DJ Roger Day.
It's more like SOTS was in the Brian Matthew days with a wider choice of 60's sounds than Tony's show.
Give it a go if you like that decade.
