Of course it wouldn't. Because players peak and mature at vastly different rates.

You don't measure every player by their age because their ability, aptitude and capability to make it at a particular level or club will always vary significantly.

Sterling has served his apprenticeship at Liverpool, and now he's making a step up to play under greater pressure, under more scrutiny, among some of the best players in Europe competing for honours at the top of the domestic game and in Europe.

He's shown ambition. Time will tell if he develops into the player he truly has the potential of becoming, and if he does, £49m will be small change.
opposite applies sometimes too. Michael Owen was mint when he left Liverpool, and never lived up to that anywhere else.

We are developing our youth quite nicely thanks- as will be proved with Sterling this season-Sterling is one of those rare players that is good enough now to step up a level at the age he is, your club saw his potential whilst he was at QPR, City see also see it how he has played at Liverpool.

City will include EDS players in the first team squad this season in Denayer and Iheanacho, the conveyer belt is running just fine fella so dont you worry about MCFC.

Ok well in terms of backing up my point how many games have they played, and how much time do they have to develop in the first team?

The transfer fee inflation isn't as big a deal as the wages. At least with the transfer fees a large percentage stays within the game (less agent fees). But with wages, it goes right to players and the taxman, never to be seen again.
The bit that goes to the taxman gets spent on schools and hospitals and such.

Id like to think you are right about the fees being forgotten but I'm not sure the liverpool biased media (Carragher et al.) will let it drop...everytime one of them is commentating or being a pundit on one of out matches you know it is going to get brought up...they will be waiting for the slightest mistake or under par performance from the lad (and it will happen because it happens to EVERY player regardless of how good they are).....they are unbelievably bitter
But they don't matter so it's all good!

Not worried at all, the club spent a good deal of time recently reducing wages in favour of bonuses, Sterling will be no different

The numbers being banded about are pure speculation.............. i.e. Bullshit

Any leak of salary won't be coming from the club, it can only be from Sterling's side, and Sterling's side would know that City would pinpoint them as culprits immediately. Ward might be a nutter, but he's not THAT much of a nutter to sour relationships on day one.
It's 100% speculation.

Of course it does, but it's not kept within football, which means clubs end up back at square one financially, as the TV money increases, it's goes right through to players, and the clubs are still skint!
At least with transfers, it filters through the system, so our 50m on Sterling will go to Liverpool and QPR, then on to other clubs via transfers etc. Sadly agents will be sucking their percentage out with every transaction.
