He's only 20 so could be here for 10 years, £5 million a year. An absolute steal.I see it as £10 Million a year or the equivalent of Jovetic and Milner

Know what you mean QR but I suppose when you factor in the 20%-25% that always gets added on for English players he's probably in the ball park.
Heard the same thing earlier from a mate who works at the city store at the stadium, saying he saw a chaffeur driven minivan turn up about 12pm - he may be sputing bollocks but I don't know.
and so you keep telling everybodySo people keep whining ...
bluemoon98...were you able to find out if your mate was right? As reports are now saying we got the go ahead to offer the 50mil...I guess this offer must have already be sent as the press are always 24hours behind on these things...and with Sterling returning home early from his holidays on saturday....hopefully we get some news soon!

Does Sterling improve our first team? YES.bluemoon98...were you able to find out if your mate was right? Don't know mate cause he was working didn't get the chance to see wh
Don't know mate sorry. Cause he was working he saw the minivan pull up at the entrance but didn't see who got out and when he looked again later the van was gone so he couldn't tell me anymore than what I said. If this 50m go ahead is on it might of been Sterling but fee would of had to been agreed first? Might of been one of the board going to the offices? I don't know
Cheers mate...thanks for your reply! Lets hope we get some news soon! :)
Couldn't agree more with this. The difference between 40 and 50 for me is irrelevant. If we think he will improve us and potentially develop into a fantastic player then the 10 million does not matter. If we sign him i think he will give us something we have really lacked and that is pace and directness we currently don't have. Combine that with Silva, Aguero, Yaya hopefully playing further forward and that's a fantastic prospect.I expressed this opinion last night but it's fell on deaf ears, we're talking about 10 mill, that is all, coz 99% on here thought 40 mill was cool. 40 ok 50 not, get a grip lads and lasses. He is exactly what is required, playing with silva and sergio he will be awesome and can not help but develop into a world class player who should serve the club for a very long time.
A sensible first post, you can't trick me rag ;)Does Sterling improve our first team? YES.
Is he Home Grown? YES.
Can we afford not to sign a 20 year old English player who has all the tools to be a top top player for years to come? NO.
Let's get this deal wrapped up and move on to our next target....

Would this be the Isco who has done an interview about a week ago (a real one, with quotes and all) saying he's not leaving Madrid this summer?
The Reus who just signed a new contract with his boyhood club and doesn't seem interested in leaving in the slightest?
They're both superb players and I'd love to see them at City, but I don't think either of them are available full stop, never mind naming a price.
Oh and Sterling imo is 10 times the player that Reus was at 20.
That mate is a fact.Spot on mate.
This kid will help us to trophies and titles for years to come and will be a £100M plus player in his prime.
He is an investment.
It was actually the fact that Lewandowski ran his contract down which paved the way for the Bayern move. It certainly wasn't Dormund's decision. In fact they rejected a bid of around £17 million in order to force him to stay another season. The only reason they let Goetze leave was because Bayern activated a release clause in his contract. So again its not like they had a choice in the matter.Don't be a Smart Arse m8 :)
You & i both know everyone has a price & contracts mean little- just a way for the club to get a decent fee for said player.
Are you honestly saying with a straight face IF we slapped £50M on the table for either of those two players at the very least talks & negotions would not begin?!
We could maybe sign them for less.
Dortmund do not like Bayern & did not want Lewandowski to go to their biggest rivals yet it happened for the right price, Figo from Barca to real etc etc
It's a lot of money for someone who runs like Velma. That mate is a fact.

Bedsides Sterling has all the tools to be one of, if not the best winger in Europe. Last season was a disappointment for him but he was still by far Liverpool's best player. That's a 20 year old who was played up front and right wing back for parts of the season. His stats were also still impressive. I actually cannot wait to see him get an extended run in his favoured position alongside Silva and Kun. By the end of the season he will be the stand out poster boy for both Nike and England which will make the £50 million we spend on him a bargain.
