Eleven days into the window......why do you say that?
Just like me you have no idea who we are trying to sign except what the media rumour mill feeds you.
Khaldoon said we would recruit big names and we still have 50 days or so left to do just that.........patience required!
if you think it's 11 days then you are naive

Delph not coming, Sterling on a plane to Bangkok, all silent on De Bruyne and it's died a death with Pogba.

I've tried remaining upbeat two weeks ago and rejoiced at snippets of ITK news on here that came out but ffs.

Proper down in the dumps.

And I didn't even want Delph!

Should we prepared to pay £5m more than all of our targets are worth just in case one of them comes good?
It depends doesn't it. If it's a £50m player plus wages and agent fees, then yes I think so. We are only going to make about 2 or 3 big signings per season anyway. Fair enough we might over pay by £15m over the course of a window but if we win the league then it's worth it. We can't expect to win the league or the Champions League if the best players are constantly snapped up by our rivals because they're less bothered about getting ripped off.

Also, we're not as big a draw as Barca, Real or Bayern so we might have to put up more money than them.

We aren't likely to win the Champions League playing our style of football anyway because sooner or later we will run into Bayern or Barcelona, who are better than us at it. We're not likely to grind out results like Chelsea or Atletico have so we either need to buy Barcelona or Bayern's players off them (which is impossible) or we have to identify the next generation of world class players and we have to snap them from under the noses of said clubs, so yeah we might still have to over pay.

It's ok taking the moral high ground as a club and saying that we don't need to overpay anymore. 95% of the time we don't, but at the top table, we still do. £50m deals indicate we as at the top table so we have to over pay in certain situations.

I've already said that I wouldn't do it for Sterling purely because I don't see the attraction to him, but we obviously want him enough, so what's the point in us posturing over £5m?

If he goes on there tour tomorrow he will not be signing, so for me it's all or nothing by tomorrow night.

Eh?

He has to go on tour or he breaks contract regulations, it could potentially cost him fortunes if I am not mistaken.

Us and Liverpool are both in Melbourne this week so it will get done in Australia.

Well said mate!

Bayern aren't any better than us tbh, I'd feel confident going up against them in the knockouts. Barca will dip soon, or get knocked out by some stuffy team we're capable of beating.
