I don't see it as letting him go, I see it as getting a (very) good return on him.

He has 12 months left on his deal and if he isn't signing a new one now, he isn't going to at all.

£50m - £55m is a great return for someone we signed for £50m 7 years ago and ad long as we replace him/Jesus I think the club have played a blinder!
