And it still is in deficit and the longer it takes to reduce the amount and timescale of that deficit the higher the national debt is than otherwise forecast.
Your regular reminder that the Tories planned to eliminate the deficit by 2015. In which case national debt would have been about 1.3 trillion compared to 1.8 trillion today.
The policy of deficit reduction of which I believe you and the likes of chipster @Chippy_boy has now been abandoned.

It’s not been built into legislation as of yet to be fair although they have said it would raise to 57 in 2028.

Thank fuck for that I’m 55 in two years :-)

One of my best mates is the chief rigger at Sellafield, he’s 70 loves his job a doesn’t want to retire, it’s never a one size fits all situation.
