Gone for a 6 - happy with Grealish and commend City for sticking to their guns and not over paying for anyone. However, purely for squad size, I would have liked to see us bring more faces in. You worry if Zinc, Ferran, Rodri etc were to get a long term injury...

That said, keeping hold of Laporte and Bernardo was fantastic business.

This place has become so entitled since the CL final. Go and do a position by position comparison of our squad and Chelsea or United's, we are miles ahead in all but the striker position.

People have convinced themselves that we don't have the best squad in England and possible the world. To improve on that is very difficult as the pool of players to choose from is very small and very expensive.

Yes, we all want a new striker but I agree with other posters who say there is no point rushing in and getting a makeshift answer who will need replacing in 1/2 years themselves.

We had arguably our best ever season without a striker so can cope another year without one. Especially if that wait results in signing someone who sorts that position for the next 5/6 years.

7/10 for me.

Says who, you?

Name me all the chances we missed in the CL final...there were fuck all because we didn't create any.

So why don't we need more chance creation?
Now you are putting words in my mouth.

Our overall stats literally scream we dont need more creativity. We got done on the transition in the CL final and it made it easy for a good defensive side to do just that. Chelsea are but one example...the rags another....etc etc.

Our main issues are finishing chances in tougher matches where we create only a handful and getting broke upon with a lack of althleticism in the middle of the pitch. If you cannot see that i dont know what more to say...its literally what 99% of blues have been concurring all summer.

I've gone 6/10. It was good, but not great.

Positives:
Grealish will be a great players
We held on to Laporte and Bernardo
We moved on some deadwood and earned a decent amount from academy players.

Negatives:
We don't have a proper CF in the squad (Delap is still very young and inexperienced).
We missed out on both Ronaldo and Messi.
We don't have an out and out left back in the squad.
CDM is going to be a position we're going to have to think about next summer.
I'd argue two of our rivals have shortened the gap between us and them with their signings.

9/10 for me, points from others I agree with: Grealish consistently beats a player, something that Sterling didn't do, then did for a season, and now doesn't do again. We need that ability to put defenders on the back foot and be fearful of going in for the tackle, Grealish brings that he's incredibly direct.

The squad managed very well without Aguero in large parts, not to say we didn't and won't miss him, because let's face it, he was one of a kind. You don't replace that level of genius easily or cheaply. Kane was our target, he didn't come, so we move on and either develop talent or wait for the right player.

Left back is a worry. Zinchenko is incredibly versatile and I really like his quick one-touch play, but he gets caught out a little too often - especially when teams target him. On the right, Walker is happy to bully and I think that's something Zinchenko could do with working on.

Looking forward to the arrival of Kayky (cake-y?), overall we have a menacing midfield with plenty of goalscorers. Teams won't know where and who to target. Overall I'm pretty pleased and I think criticism of the leadership is a little harsh.

Still want to see Haaland in the team though!

Just annoying we dont seem to learn from previous window mistakes ie not replacing big players

You're so close but you're just not getting it.

Why did we get done on the transition?

-Because Pep dropped our 2 great defensive midfielders to play an attacking midfielder.

Why did he do that?

- Because he felt we couldn't break Chelsea down without and extra forward.

How do you fix it?

- Bring in an attacking player so good you can break down defences without dropping a defensive midfielder.

The answer to this is to create more chances! it's better to produce 5 chances for our finishers with 20% conversion rate than 3 for someone with a 25% conversion rate (this is the upper level for elite finishers)

We have essentially lost 4 players Aguero, Fernandinho, Mendy and Garcia. we scored 20 goals less than the season before, we are slow through the middle and age is slowing the team down in general, i am not bothered about the money it is not mine, so Grealish was a good buy where we did not need it, Kane would have been a good buy where we needed it That did not happen time to grin and bear it. we still needed a quick DM and there were cheap better options out there, we needed a LWB and there were better options out there. 4 in 4 essentially out, 4 out of 10 for me
