It's a 5 from me and only just that.

Of the three areas that needed attention CF, DM & possibly LB we've spunked a fortune on an excellent player who is no use to any of those spots.

we still have amazing depth. Only thing we need is a top striker but we can plan to do better next summer when more clubs are not affected by the covid aftermath. So this window wasn't a failure. Still signed a top player in grealish.

Just to add from my last essay, something not yet mentioned is this window also has an impact on future windows. Next summer we will now still need a striker like this summer but we will also need to replace Fernandinho, likely need a left back with the Mendy situation and face the prospect of having to replace anybody else that may want to leave and that's before any unforseen situations.

That makes for a very busy and very expensive window and if we somehow get everybody we want next summer that's quite a few players that will need bedding in all at once.

We were already the best team in Europe and now we have added another (improving) world class midfielder,and promoted some of the most exciting kids in the game.Retaining amazing players,while clearing some deadwood,and bringing in good money,has also been a huge positive.

There is much to be excited about........the pessimism is unjustified,OTT and very unhealthy,with some reactions being ridiculous and pathetic,to those members,get a fucking grip.
