Bravo and Nolito? Surely not. Jury still out on Gundy due to yet another injury. Sane the best, Stones good and improving as the season went on. Jesus will be a star. Season 4/10 and signings 6/10. Overall pass mark for me of 5/10.
 
Probably depends on where we finish.

Top four considering we would have to improve on our points tally from last year given are best defender has been missing for the whole season in effect , injuries to key players and the fact we have little steel and ageing legs in the defensive half and very average goal keepers is a pass mark just given we should have reached the semi finals of Chumps League this season once again.

If we finish outside the top four ( we really have no excuse to finish worse than third now ) then its a fail for Pep in his first season.

2 wins from 14 against Chels, Tot, Liv, Arse, Eve and Rags in all comps this season. I can't remember a worse return against the top 6 for a long time.
Change that form and keep the form against the lower teams and you stroll the league next year. But how?
 
it's been a poor season imo because other than Sané and Jesus there was no new blood - so there's a huge number of players that we depended on that may not be there next season. So excusing the results as a necessary transition phase is less credible.

And having seen our style of play and almost ridiculous faith in it at times, I'm less confident in Pep than I was at the beginning.

So I'd rate it 49%.
 
For a transitional season we've had the usual ups and downs, and learnt a lot about certain players and positions. Namely that our fullback situation has finally hit breaking point.

There are also things we simply couldnt account for, getting a keeper who is seriously good for Chilie and was good for Barca turning to shit the second he landed in Manchester couldn't of been accounted for. Nor could injuries to Jesus and Gundogan.

The major thing we've learnt is we have the same problems we've said we had for the past few years, almost as if certain players just ain't up to scratch.

Our GK hardly has anything to do most games so we don't need a tidy ball player there, get a top drawer shot stopper (Cech made a difference for Semi final). Find another Kompany and the two full back positions promote from academy/out on loan players + two world class fullbacks. Midfield needs a young Toure, we miss the extra goals from a player like that. Lots to do for Pep.
 
I'd start of with an opinion, move it forward 10yds, then go back to my starting point. I'd pass that opinion onto my neighbour on my left and see what he thinks, he'd give it straight back to me. I'd then try my neighbour to the right hand side. He'd move forward with the opinion change his mind and give it back to me. I'd give it straight back to the wife and move out wide to the shed. The wife would throw a new opinion with a slightly different angle. I'd try and move forward with that but seeing no-one to expand that idea with, I'd take the safe option and pass it sideways again. Eventually time would run out, I would have had 71% possession of the opinion but f**k all to show for it!

Not quite over yet but if we get top 4 then 5/10. If not then 3/10.

Can appreciate it is a process and that we've been dicked by some very dubious decisions this year, plus some key injuries. But the fact of the matter is that we've had so much of the ball plus been creative, just not finished enough chances. The goals would make the possession based play seen supreme, and we have some great attacking talent which means thankfully we don't roll up and park the bus like the swamp dwellers did, but in the cold hard light of day we are still battling for fourth with a team who are bland and lucky, the new Bolton if you like.

I'm middle of the road, a 5/10, some promising signs there for next season and some cash to go at it, we may have built the foundations for a new style of play and winning, but by Gabby J's left peg we'd better have something more to show for it next season. I am tempted to knock one off that too for lack of chances for the younger kids, something I though for sure Pep would embrace, Again, next year?

i'd also add disappointing after such high expectations and the fanfare of a Pep unveiling !!
 
Since our expectations have risen considerably since the takeover, this is not the performance expected for a team claiming to be challenging for top league and european honours.
