But the point remains.

Why close the 3rd tiers?

FA Cup quarter final, cheap tickets, Sunday = big crowd.

I don't see any logic at all in the way City are handling this.

It's getting byond a joke now. Tuesday and the 3rd tiers still aren't open.

If it's sold out they should now open el3

if we actually had a decent fan base all this brinkmanship wouldn't be necessary.

we have the best side for decades and the cup crowds this season have been nothing short of a disgrace.

if the club close part of the ground due to a poor sales history who the fuck can blame them.

this is the real truth ... we just have not got a high number of core seasoncard holders who care about/can afford the cup games. fact. Top 3 Premiership club players appealing to fans to come to a Sunday FA Cup game, top price £25. Arsenal had nearly 60k against Orient. U*d 75k v Crawley. There's something wrong. Yesterday hardly any tickets had gone in the SS for the Kiev game, today there's still loads all over the ground. people go on about its all about the league and coming 4th, but you tell me the situation will be any different next season when we're trying to fill the ground for the lesser CL games.

There'll be nobody around with the authority to open them now. The TO staff will be in the pub watching the Barca match and laughing: "Look at those clowns, they've opened Level 4, have they no sense?".

Relax hasty one, they'll do it in the next couple of days.

We won't sell out for champs league I don't think. We don't have the fan base.

Could not agree more

You Guys are saying this as if the Cup crowds have only recently been low. They were only 25000-ish during the last Europa jaunt.

Hamburg took an extreme tactic to sell out. The others were nowhere near.

i think i'm dissapointed cos back then we wern't real challengers for any cup, we now have a top side and although money is tight it was worse 2 years ago.
shame.

Not yet. The clubs who are mentioned have had sustained success, we have gone 35 years with diddly squat.

Attendances and success are linked. Maybe we're gonna need the band waggon jumpers to regulary sell out in the cups

..true, though that begs the question why we're able to sell out league games despite all the various disappointments there!

I empathise with de niro's comments.

However, in my view, the upturn of money and, so, expectation cannot immediately generate fans who would already have been with us had we had been successful in the past '35 years'.

Now we are becoming more successful, we get more TV exposure. Hence, we have probably acquired many armchair fans who might be persuaded to atend matches once we start flautnign the silverware.

Am I being over-simplistic?

If the club 'forced' us to sign up the Cup Direct scheme then more would have to attend (obviously don't want this, like some clubs have). In shory season card holders have a big say in the league attendances

I do think the club should at least offer an option which includes all home domestic Cup ties in the S/T for a reasonable sum. Ok, some seasons we may not get a home draw but if it's priced competitively and we're expecting a degree of success I think it would be attractive to a lot of S/T holders.

^^^This^^^

We will not sell out this game, no chance. At best we'll sell most of EL3 but CB3 won't even go on sale. Ticket sales for cup games all season have been disgraceful.

I can see why the club have adopted this policy of only opening L3 if the demand is there.

REMAING BLOCKS ALL YELLOW NOW. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.mcfc.talent-sport.co.uk/PagesPublic/ProductBrowse/standAndAreaSelection.aspx?stadium=CM&product=10FHRE&campaign=%20%20&type=H" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.mcfc.talent-sport.co.uk/Page ... %20&type=H</a> Hundreds of seats sold since yesterday.

And that's with the club making buying tickets difficult and very frustrating. Why?

About 130 seats left.

So in the space of a day or two, most of the North Stand level 2 has sold out at the higher price, on the OS planner.

No demand. Arf!

So, once those 125 seats go, will the club dare to open level 3 and piss alot of level 3 fans off, who have already been moved?
