Real Madrid (A) Post Match Thread

I hope the players are hurting this morning, they should be after that capitulation last night.
Hopefully they'll come out against Newcastle & show what they're really made of

Still feel like my heart has been ripped out my body.

Reminded my son not to forget where we have come from. I watched us for 30 years where we were shit. We have come along way and still have a long way to go.

I bloody love this club, but it doubly hurts on nights like that.

League has to happen to shut those self entitled up!

Interesting quote from twiiter :-

City conceded six goals over two legs when Kyle Walker was not on the field. For the 72 mins he was on the field they conceded none.

What a shit point in the season to lose our best full back, best team over 2 legs by far and lost, fuck all to do with mentality in my opinion, its down to scoring all those chances, we do that and we go through, simple.
That's about right. Sadly Cancelo whilst good going forward is not a great defender unlike Walker. We need a proper left back and a bit of toughness in the side. They are all nice lads but lack fire in their bellies. A bit of aggression now and then would do no harm!!

Will haunt us for years that game in terms of the UCL. No matter how much we win from now on until we eventually win it it will be an albatross round our necks. The only way it could have been worse is if it happened in the final.
When Bayern lost to United in 1999 they won it in 2001, when Milan lost to Liverpool in 2005 they won it in 2007.

Well, what was I thinking. That ‘typical City’ left us. It has maybe but not in the CL however.

Last night was so hard to swallow. Because we played two fantastic games against them, were and are the better team by far, and simply failed to get the luck the better team normally has. Not us in the CL.

I’m not gonna blame anyone on our side. Why would I when there’s no one to blame. I’m proud the way we showed ourselves. Great football. Not cheating.
We didn’t bottle it. Real are going to be the luckiest ever finalists. It’s simply not our time yet. Even if the ref had shown balls by sending Casimero off for at least two bookable offences, Real had probably found the luck they have

I’m gonna need till Sunday to get over this one. I just hope the players will deal with it. We did it when Spurs knocked us out a few years back.

Again very proud. And heartbroken.

Going to have to switch off from football and not read any media for a few days....that one really bloody stung last night and will do for quite some time.

I'd have rather lost 8-0 than that. The most frustrating thing was just how jammy they were. If you look at the goals a lot of them were total flukes or moments of madness by us like the two penalities.

Nah. A good thumping when we get our strikers (yes strikers) firing next season and it'll be forgotten about.

We have come along way as a club, but in some ways we are still so naive in European football . We play sublime football at times, but we need to temper that with some reality, when you are leading by a goal in the 89 min I do not need to see gung ho attacking football I need to see some street savy in the corner protecting the ball, I need to see our players getting "cramp" I need to see us winding down the clock , I have seen us play sublime football, 5/6 mins of anti football will not spoil my opinion of the team, and how we play beautiful football it's that lack of knowledge that annoyed me last night .

Another big game, another we lose when we should have won.
This team is brilliant but we have a soft centre, and until we conquer that lack of Steel and lose our debilitating naivity,we will continue to be the bridesmaids.

We are our own worst enemy, the masters of self destruction. We need to address that, and maybe that starts with the boss.

We have a a goalkeeper who doesn't make saves not nearly enough, and a blind spot that Laporte and Dias are a good pairing.

Clearly, two goals come in from Zin's side, but the most apparent thing was the players we had left on the pitch did not believe they were good enough to turn the situation around.

Phil showed still what he is, a young kid who got lost in the mix, Fern and Gundo, lacking the physicality and Sterling, bouncing off people due to his lack of technique.

Rodri and Bernie were excellent, moaning about Kev's situation is easy to do, but he could have no complaints about being hooked.

We conceded six goals across the two matches and they had none shots in goal.

Hopefully we can raise ourselves for this next week.

Madrid is a shithole I’m on my way home:) this is the bit I hate when every fuckers depressed at the airport and you wish you were having a full English in Asda than sat here with your thoughts

Ridiculous comment. De Gea wins games for United because that's what goalkeepers at shit football clubs do. Help them cling on to results. We don't need a goalkeeper to "win us games" because 99% of the time we dominate games and put teams to bed for half time and Ederson doesn't have anything to do.

If you want to watch a team where the keeper wins you 12-15 points a season, you're supporting the wrong football club.
Ridiculous reply and based on the narrative today seems a lot of respected posters think he should be making more saves for us. I didn't say we needed a keeper to win us as many games games like United do, but we do need one that saves us occasionally when the chips are down like last night. Eddie ain't that man I'm afraid to say. Like with the later stages of Joe Hart we seem to have too many games with three shots on target and three goals against us!

Woke up this morning and I’m absolutely gutted, 2 mins of fucking madness, Pep did nothing wrong this is on the players. Ok we concede one but then we get the kick off to restart how the fuck do they get the ball and score again, naivety doesn’t come close, you start diving like they did etc. I hate this competition with a passion but if we lose the league from here then it’s not just a goal scorer we need it’s defensive coach.
