On the 16th April 2012 we were 5 points behind the rags with 4 games to play. Did anyone believe they would drop 5 points in those 4 games? We're 8 behind Chelsea with 27 games left to play. It looks very difficult now but who knows what could happen.

The one thing I do know is that if Chelsea don't drop many points between now and May, they will be worthy winners.

I thought they'd drop 3 points, as a minimum, as I was convinced we were the superior side, and we had to play them, at the Etihad.

I think the difference here, for me anyway, is twofold. Firstly City were playing pretty well leading into the end of the 2011/12 season, which isn't the case currently, and secondly United were always punching above their weight that season, mainly due to Ferguson's influence, so a drop in form was possible, Chelsea are a far better side than United were then.

We certainly still have a chance of catching Chelsea, but it won't be easy, and we're reliant on our form improving substantially, and Chelsea's dropping off.

Champions League:
Highly unlikely that we will qualify for the last 16 but if we don't & we get into the UEFA League then we could go all the way & win it. I know a lot of people on here don't want us in that competition but once we were at the semi finals i'm sure everyone would be up for it.

Premier League:
Not looking good at the moment with Chelsea running away with it, however there's still 3/4 of the season left and plenty to play for. We can't play any worse than how we're playing right but the international break will do the squad a favour and hopefully they'll return in a positive mood. The return of Silva should also be a bonus.
Chelsea will hit a bad spell at some stage and hopefully we will capitalise.

FA Cup,
We've had a decent run in this competition in recent years and this season should be no different. We have the squad to rotate and still get the results in the FA Cup. With a decent draw there's no reason why we can't win it again.

Right now I would take: Uefa Cup win, Premier league 2nd, FA Cup finalist.

A lot of the "worlds coming to an end",vitriolic and downright idiotic threads and comments we see on a regular basis on bluemoon eminate from continued unrealistic expectations of what can be achieved by any football club on a season by season basis, as good as our squad is and in spite of the world class talent we have at our disposal we aren't going to win everything every year, we'll suffer injuries,we'll have dips in form, consistency and confidence other teams will simply be better than us at times. When you've been through the darkest days in the clubs history as i and many of blue mooners have you're levels of expectation are tempered as a result ha ha ha lol so top 3 and CL outright qualification and maybe FA Cup trip to Wembley is good as it's gonna get this season.
