Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

The advantage rule is being stretched far beyond what is reasonable. You cannot wave advantage and then say there was no advantage simply because the receiving player miscontrolled the pass and surrendered possession. Similarly, waving advantage now seems increasingly to be used as an excuse for not booking players.
It's the new law/directive. If the play continues and the attack still develops, they don't go back for the yellow as nothing was stopped. I agree though that they should definitely go back for some of the heavy fouls as you shouldn't be able to get away with kicking people and doing as you please off the ball

As I said earlier, I thought he was decent yesterday but to answer your question re bookings; IMHO the refs are under orders to keep it 11 v 11 in 'the big Sunday match'. Sky had a brilliant game for the neutral to watch, send someone off and that all changes. Go back to Milner v us. He should have been sent off but then you wouldn't have got the last 15 minutes of frantic football sky love. Pigmob are told not to spoil the product.
I’m not sure it’s Sunday that’s the consistent thread, I think the consistent factor is us

I didn’t realise that. Are you sure that’s the case as it’s absolutely fucking stupid

Also why cucurella wasnt booked and sent off for a ridiculous dive near Foden. but Gallagher not getting a yellow had very strong spot betting vibes. Only explanation for it.

Reckon a lot of bets were scuppered. I know mine was.
Especially given Doku was rightly booked for his dive. Cucurella's was even more blatant.

I think Taylor is a very good referee - better than Oliver, and the best in the country. I also think his worst performances are when refereeing us.

He had a good game yesterday though. Not perfect, but then again not one single player earned a 10/10 in any of the ratings I have seen.

We can all recite the bad performances involving us, as we've talked about them numerous times. Yesterday, he rightly stepped in to diffuse a flashpoint incident - good refereeing. If only he had done that a few years ago, he wouldn't have had to show red cards to Sergio and Fernandinho.

He could have cautioned a couple more of their players (Cucarella dive, Gallagher for accumulated fouls). On our side, the penalty was correct, but most referees wouldn't have given it. Hence not a 10/10 performance from him.

It was good to see him caution Doku for his ridiculous dive. Hopefully Doku will remove that from his game.

Silly Sue on sky ref watch saying Haaland fouled Cucurella first so she's torn on the penalty....fuck off!
