Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

He wasn't okay.

He got all our cards spot on, but he let at least 3 of their players go unpunished, including one for EXACTLY the same offence Rodri was punished for.

There were other disparities also, including allowing their free kicks to be taken quickly from the wrong position, clearly giving Spurs an advantage.
Grealish was booked for kicking the ball away but early in the first half a Spurs player did the same thing and - nothing !
After the third Spurs goal, Richarlison launched the ball high into the stands twice whilst celebrating/ delaying the restart - again no punishment.

I don't typically join in with the conspiracy theory nutjobs but that decision today has no valid explanation other than corruption. The refs routinely make shit calls but they do so knowing they can hide behind subjective views or if the worst comes to the worst they can just claim "human error" and you can't really argue with it.

You can't do any of that with that decision though. Pep should have took the fine and made a lot of noise about it to make sure it doesn't get swept under the rug. It needs explaining because even the apologist pundits that want city to fail couldn't muster up a semi-viable explanation for it in their defence.

I'm really not into the "everybody is out to get city" narrative but in my eyes that's a deliberate attempt at tampering with the result.

You will, you’ll see plenty, just none as badly decided as today. They can signal advantage and still bring it back if play doesn’t develop as advantageously as they thought it would.
I challenge anyone to find one other example of a referee signalling advantage, then stopping play to give the foul. You won't find one in any professional game, anywhere in the world, at any point in the history of football. I guarantee that you won't find one.

He 100% did NOT.

Sky played the clip with audio.... The foul was committed, Erling recovered and the referee signalled play on. Erling then played Jack through and the ref raised his hand again signalled to play on. The ball was with Jack who was through and then he blew... why?

Your comment could not be more incorrect even if Simon Hooper had written it.
Match of the Day just played the clip, he indicated play on and the sound proves he did not call it back until after Jack had the ball and was going forward....

Another fuck up a la not giving Wolves the penalty at the Meccano stadium.... both either blatant incompetence or cheating.... I'll leave that one hanging with you.

Check it out on iPlayer.... it' all the proof any doubters on here will need.

No he wasn't but that is a different thread. This is about an blatant, corrupt referee and an absolutely appalling decision.
As I said before I thought he was OK (not brilliant) until that absolute balls up in injury time. I want him to come out and explain why he did what he did. Not guaranteed Jack would have scored but at least we should have got to see the outcome.

Only books players when it benefits the corrupt ball and bats

Referees in this league are shocking

It's worse when I see it on Sky Sports and MOTD.

Baffling than he played on (didn't blow the whistle) and pulled it back on a goal scoring opportunity

Sorry I think there is something odd about that imo
