Ref Watch City Games - 2023/24

First half spurs player kicks the ball away when free kick awarded to city no action
Second half grealish does EXACTLY the same thing yellow card
After spurs third goal richarlason takes the ball out of the net and smashes it high into the crowd then gets another ball from in front of the ball boy and does the same thing no action.
This for me is more of a problem all everyone wants is consistency
It’s amazing isn’t it
it’s certainly a tough job now under the media and fan microscope not one I would want

If he had blown his whistle after the foul on Haaland, then watched Haaland put Grealish through, and at that point shout "Play on, advantage", and indicating with his arms, would this have been a correct decision? Obviously not.

But he did a very similar thing. He played advantage, which was the decision for the foul situation. That decision is then final for that act, and it is not possible on footballing law to change that decision.

It wasn't a split second mistake, it was a conscious choice to change a decision already made. There was no footballing reason to change the decision of advantage that had already been made.

It’s not in the laws that that decision is final, the guidance is that they can do this -

“The referee can wait a few seconds to allow a possible advantage to develop, and if the non-offending team does not benefit and gains no advantage, the original free kick can be given.“

Ideally he shouldn’t have raised his arm to signal advantage but that’s a recommendation not a law. Some refs do it, some don’t.

If it was to fuck us over its because..
hes a spurs fan
He hates city
He was told by the prem league to do us if he can.
He was told by var in his ear piece to blow.
He was bribed

So which is it?

Maybe he thought Grealish first touch the ball got away from him then he blowed is the more sensible conclusion
