Ref Watch

Dermot is working on excuse as we speak and then brushed under carpet by 12 o'clock monday dinner
It is ridiculous that after a major incident that they is complete silence from the ref.
Why cant we hear what's going on like in rugby or cricket etc, why the secrecy. It's a simple question so a simple answer. Why did you blow after you blow for the free kick to be taken ?
What offence did you see as the ball was going into the net ?

Mason blatantly blew so the goal wouldn’t count for no reason under any LOG. I’m utterly furious at this and the standard of an official at such a level
if you are really clutching at straws you could say two Brighton players were off-side ! But even as bent as the refs are i cant seem them saying that.

As players and fans we should be told why he disallowed the goal. Why did he blow ? what offence had he seen ? What did VAR say and see ? its a shambles and needs explaining. Its not just Mason its VAR as well. What went on ?

This sounds like a nice idea BUT my view is that refs would be asked to explain themselves and challenged more by the media on behalf of the RAGs and Dippers. This will put even more pressure on them to give the soft decisions toward them and against us.

The whole quick free kick rule is a bit of a mess. Ultimatly they came to the right decision yesterday, but it was wrong for the ref to say yes when asked if he could take it quickly.

But Debruyne's yellow card for taking a quick free kick a couple of seasons ago was one of the most ludicrous yellows Ive ever seen.

MOTD gave a good explanation. The Brighton player asked if he could take the kick and Mason said yes so blew his whistle. He then realised the keeper wasnt ready so blew again to stop the game. He had to blow before the ball went in the net to do this otherwise the goal stood and that was the reason there was a var check. It was so incompetent not to realise the keeper was not ready as he was lining up his wall, it is beyond belief

why was it right to rule the goal out ?

players asks ref if he could take a quick free kick , ref says yes

ref blow his whistle player took and scored free kick what offensive did Brighton infringe ?

You dont have to wait for the other team to be ready thats why you take it quick

Just a fair play thing for me. Imagine if a ref allowed someone like Salah to take a quick free kick and score against us while we are lining up our wall, after Mane had 'won' the free kick after tripping over an overgrown blade of grass, I think I would put my foot through the telly.
Ok maybe Im being a bit childish with that scenario. Maybe I have bad memories of Henry constantly trying quick free kicks against us back in the day.
Ultimatly, its just fair play to me to wait until everyones ready.

The word “fair” went out with the Inter City Fairs Cup”

had a brief comeback with FFP lol

It's never VAR all that does is alow a second look, it doesn't give any dissisions it's all down to shite referee's.

Oh Graham Poll....

Poll blew for the kick during Dunne's run up. I think it was Peter Schmeichel on MotD who got close to saying Poll was lying when he said he hadn't blown.

Was at the game and everyone heard the fucking whistle go!

Didn’t really have any major objections to Oliver’s performance today tbh.
Let a few fouls on Eddie go that are fouls for any other PL keeper but other than that we did not give him a chance ie do not touch players in the area as you know he would give a pen.
