Referees/Officials

Sane, Jesus, Sterling and Silva all completely unprotected tonight and we are lucky not to have had at least one serious injury, as that spineless twat Friend gave our players no protection; the commentators glossed over all that and made him out to have had a good game cos he called a blatant penalty decision right. Appalling standards. The only decent refs are in European games, provided we are not playing UEFA's darlings

Sterling was wrestled to the ground right in front of the Lino as we broke for the 1st goal. Ref played advantage but that was the most blatant case for a yellow after the goal was scored, again totally glossed over. Also nothing for being emptied by that fckers trailing leg

Cresswell should have seen a straight red for that horror tackle on Sterling—it was more luck and quick thinking from Raheem that he didn't end up with a broken leg/ankle.

Byram should have seen at least three yellows, yet saw none.

Carroll should have seen two yellows (that late, malicious shoulder barge at pace which blindsided Fernandinho was disgraceful).

Noble should have had at least a yellow for accumulation.

Reid was also extremely lucky not to be booked after a few off the ball obstructions completely ignored by the referee and linesmen.

This while our players were penalised for every single infringement (many of which were worthy of a fouler card, mind).

It was a horribly biased display glossed over by our exceptional performance.

Second half, Silva, through the midfield and attacking; cynically brought down from behind but no booking.
Second half, Carroll, through the midfield and attacking; cynically brought down from behind and yes booking.

Those instances happened very close together and highlight the incomprehensible inconsistency.

That one where Friend deemed their player to have won the ball after Sterling clearly played it to Jesus and he was cleaned out from the side/behind and then Jesus completely wellied over was a joke.

Jesus was booked for gobbing off at the ref, despite being given the free kick, their player was also booked, he got both of those correct. Sterling was booked for a "take one for the team" foul, though whether it was necessary is debatable, as West Ham were unlikely to create anything the way they played tonight.

Aside that he had a poor game, but its not rare is it ?

Aye but the irony was their break in which Sterling fouled and was booked came from a free kick for us in which an identical foul occurred and alas, no booking. Double standards

The issue was seconds before Raheem got his deserved yellow, Merlin was breaking, got hacked down yet again and whilst we got a free kick, yup you guessed it, no yellow card.

Wee play football, we have the better players so its not surprising the opposition will try and make it a battle as its their only chance but what cant happen is the ref joining in with them every week.

Any gifs of these incidents, particularly the one where Sterling was carted?

Gobbing off, or showing an imaginary card?
