Regrouping of singers within the stadium

I said the same things months ago. It's possible that the club are looking at moving the singers from at least block 109, so that returns to a seated block.

Saying that, I hope blocks 110 and 111 remain standing and singing blocks. We need singers either side of the remaining away block in the lower tier. Not only that, Blocks 114, 115, and blocks 110, 111, could bounce off each other.(for want of a better word) The noises and songs will travel further between those blocks, as there will only be 1 away block separating both singing sections.

I can see both singing sections really upping the anti to out sing each other in the future.
I think the singers need to be together, otherwise, as we now have, there will be small groups either side, singing different songs, even if it is only one block apart.

So do I. The ground needs one voice, not two. That's the problem. And that voice needs to "spread" once it starts up. The new stand can facilitate that.

Having stood and sang on both sides of the away fans, the Kippax side is the side which the away fans focus on most. That because you face them at an angle, so you end up interacting with them more. It's just human nature. In the South stands it's different because you are side on to them, so there isn't as much interaction.

It's just my opinion, but we definitely need to keep at least 110 and 111 as singing blocks. I'm hoping blocks 114 and 115 are filled with fans from other parts of the ground who want to stand and sing. And the majority of fans who are in blocks 110 and 111 stay there.

With only 1away block separating the singing sections next season, I'm sure there will be a lot more unity when songs are sung.

You'd be surprised mate. I don't have a Twitter or Facebook account, i only ever look at Twitter 59 minutes before kick off to see the team line up and i never look at Facebook ever. I have about four or five mates who are the same and we're aged between 28-32.

Right I'm confused after reading through bits of this. So is the idea to move singers/peaopl who like to stand from 111 area to the other side of the away fans with the south stand? Thus making it a much bigger, unified singing section?

no
So what's the plan then?

I believe that the club are discussing with supporter groups the possibility of having two new blocks, 114 and 115 being made available specifically for a singing section.
The groups would like to know who would be interested in this
if so it could create a larger singing section behind the goal with a smaller away section

Could they not just move the away fans into the corner flag area which connects the south stand to the CB stand

At least that way you would have the singing section from 110 - 111 and all the South stand lot side by side

That would be my thinking too. Everyone grouped together.

personally i wouldn't have any of the away fans in the bottom tier
i don't see why we couldn't block off the bottom tier exits where the away fans are so City fans don't leave there and end up in the middle of them, leaving tier 2 and 3 away fans to exit that area without disturbance, as GMP seem to think it's so important

Moving the away fans anywhere other than where they are now isn't going to happen, even if the club wanted too, GMP get the last say and they won't allow it because of the coach park - they would have to use different turnstiles to enter the ground and the police won't allow that. I think it's better how it's going to be, the away fans will be half as loud but still present something for home fans to bounce off and have banter with.

I think it would boil down to the GMP not wanting to have to walk fans down 3 levels if they need to chuck someone out, that and the fact that they probably won't fancy walking up 3 levels in the first place the lazy sods

I dunno i reckon we could manage having the away fans in that corner without it being too much of a ballache from the away car park. Think of all the other grounds in the league, how many of them have direct access to the away car park? I can't think of many, so i can't see it being a big issue

I like the idea of the south stand lot being swapped with where the away fans currently sit, at least then you should have all the singers together

i agree 100%
the only ground i can think of that does this off the top of my head is the Britannia
But it's not up for discussion, the decision has already been made that the away fans must be in that corner to access the coaches, and they will have to be on all three levels, so some of our fitter police will have to do the upper level

Something needs to happen to improve the atmosphere, it's getting embarrassing.. The South Stand seems to of died a death, none of the usual lads who start the songs seem to bother anymore!..... weird!

I can't claim to have been to many away grounds, but I can vouch for the Britannia, the only other one I can think of is St. Andrews, pretty sure they had an away car park which leads straight to the turnstile, oh and Ewood Park.

No he's not, when our lot get together at games sometimes there are about 40 of us, I would say that out of those only about 10 use social media, we are of all ages, this is the problem in this Country, social media users arrogantly think that everybody is on it, they are not, I wouldn't piss on facebook or twitter if it was on fire, it's a fooking nuisance

Whatever any of think on that subject, its just not going to happen, the police ended the discussion several years ago, and the club can't change that. Away fans are in that corner, so no point discussing it.

The important thing, and why this is a sticky on here, is that its needs as many as possible that want to be involved to firstly know about it, and secondly let those trying to organise it know that you are interested, whether its via here, social media in general, or word of mouth.

Just for DD and others awareness of 1894 is very high. Apathy is very high too. Finances wise all our current money is earmarked. We had some big displays already this year v liverpool utd spurs palace etc. Just spent remainder on the arsenal display.

We handed out 5000 cards last season home and away with our website on. Didnt translate into hits on the website though. Social media and word of mouth does work. 8k on twitter 3.2k on facebook. We put out a statement on facebook before the bayern game about the joint protest. Loads of shares. 58k views. Sheikh mansour went to spain video filmed at norwich 26k views

We can get messages out via mcfc website mcfc twitter and have used the MEN a number of times. We will use mediums like this on this occasion too. Flyers, like cards we produce often just end up on the floor.

Pointless talking about position of away fans thats where they will be. So lets work with it.

People in 111 dont have to move. They can if they want to but having singers in 115 means 111 and 115 can hear each other and join in the same song.

There is appetite within the club to get this sorted so no need for hysterics or any blue on blue arguments. We feed initial interest into the club end of jan but already a lot of interest that it obvious.

Club themselves will outline how fans interested in this can make the move and they will outline this mid feb.

Cup games..plan is to load away fans from the top downwards so level 1 would be kept together for City. Aways to go level 3 in cup games and if its a 15% following some in level 2 too.
