Richards Interview (The Sun With Quotes)

The Sun making a big deal out of nothing yet again.

He just wants to play, just like all footballers do.

To be fair there's a fair few on this thread making a big deal out of it as well...

I wouldn't go that far. Richards has clearly made this public and nowhere in the quotes does it do nothing but scream of ultimatum for him and his little band of average team-mates.

As suspected, his lack of intelligence on the pitch, is equally matched off it.

Sub standard, has an above average match every now and again and he's Baresi.

Well said

i think sometimes we need to take the blue tinted shades off, of course he does'nt like being benched all the time and it's obvious over the last couple of months that the same goes for aj and even shaun most likely. he could have said it to another source as the sun are cnuts but the truth should never be stifled. we all know it, why be mad that he said it.

As much as I dont like it - this - and very much this.

Its a shame because we have some good young players at the club and I love how Mancini is taking us forward but a) I think we need a more stable back line and b) we have decent players not even getting on the bench then what do we seriously expect to happen. There gonna get upset.

As Mancini would say 'This is normal'.

seriously guys, I dont get the hatred of Micah on here.

He is city through and through, just wants more games so he can become England number 1 Right Back.

in all fairness he deserves to be he is much better player than G Johnson.

he should be kept at the club for a long time, pace, power, English and really wants to lay!!

Come on City

Well done Micah, just don't spout it at the Sun!

p.s. if you end up at Spurs you can burn in hell!!

Who do you think has tapped him up?! Do you think he would come out with this interview if didn't think a top 5 club wanted him! Twitcher probably told him he'll play every week at centre back his preferred position!

Haha, seeing Richards fuck up at Centre Back like he did for us, but for the Yids would be a joyful sight to see.

If he relly said all that.then it just confirms the stereotype of the pampered young footballer, totally out of touch with reality.
And as others have said-why is he giving "exclusives" to the shittest paper in shit street?

Thick twat.

"if he really said that.." thats the problem.its the Sun..quotes don,t always indicate accuracy with any form of media, let alone the tabloid press.Surely he wouldn,t be so stupid as to comment on AJ and SWP,s situation..What the hell has it got to do with him? Swp,as an experienced player and england international, who has already had his dad embarass him on his behalf should really have a word with Micah....

Mancini and Capello do not like each other, that is established. With this to mind, how come our England (and fringe) players complain about pressure from Capello, yet certain players from other teams are a given for his squads despite playing infrequently.

We had 7 City players on the pitch last year under a Capello managed England side.

There is no conspiracy here.

I agree with this completely.

He's the best right back at the club in the best form. Zabalata's been strong but he's too slow. Boateng's a centre half.

There's nothing wrong with this interveiw, it's obvious that our young England players want to play every week. I'd be disappointed if they didn't.

Give him a run in the shirt,Mancini and make him make it his own.

He didn't need to run to The Sun though. Mancini is far more likely to respond favourably towards players who conduct themselves in a responsible manner. For him to mention SWP & AJ is a cunts trick, the kind of shit you grow out of when you're 10 and you realise that drawing other people into your arguments makes you look pretty weak and a bit of a back stabber.

Absolutely. The interview is out of order as it wasn't needed in the first place. He should have kept his gob shut in public and if he so desired to give ultimatums, then he should have kept them in private with Mancini.

He has no right to discuss AJ or SWP's positions however, total bell end for that. But typical of young footballers that have everything handed to them on a plate and aren't normaly told "no".

As for bringing up England, it is not the FA or Capello that pay his wages. Can you imagine Rafael doing this at the Swamp?

"City are second"

No Micah, WE are second. If he was City through and through like some are saying he wouldnt say that.

Some will say semantics but I think that is a good call.

I've been wanting him to start but he's pissed on his chips here! Why stir shit with the amount of stick we get already, can't care for the club as much as he says. Should be punished the slapped ass!

I don't mean to say there is a conspiracy- it was a genuine inquiry- is Capello putting pressure on players of other clubs as he appears to be here (and they are staying quiet), or are his selections based on hype and not form as some would suggest.

Putting aside all the childish vitriol which is pretty much becoming par for the course on this forum, it seems to me like a "come and get me" interview which has been sanctioned by the club.

Either that or Micah's been t a p p e d u p . And if he has we shouldn't really complain about it as we've become pretty adept at unsettling players ourselves when it suits us.

I personally think right back is a problem position for us anyway, as long term neither Zaba nor Boateng are good enough. Micah has improved this season and personally I think it'd be a shame if he left, but there are a lot of players at City right now who would happily go to a 'mid table' premiership club to play regular football. Anyone who slags a player off for doing that has really let our new found wealth go to their heads IMO...

I love the way you judge Boateng as not being good enough long term but think Micah is. Yet Micah was awful for 18 months and we stuck by him. Boateng hasn't even got 15 matches under his belt in the Prem, is young and adapting to a new league and country and was voted best defender in Germany last year and did well played out of position in the world cup.

Amazing but expected I guess.

Got you.

It's a decent question; i wonder if its more a case of him saying (as i think he has publically) "play for your club or you won't play for your country".

Of course Capello then picks Wes Brown, Michael Carrick etc after they've not seen first team action for months.

If he is putting pressure on them, then they're mugs for buying into it. You'll get much more out of football by doing it at club level these days than you will at international level. More than that he's our player, not England's to dictate to.

Nothing amazing about it. Boateng has said repeatedly he's a centre half and that's where he wants to play. His performances so far this season haven't really caught the eye as such. I realize he's in a new league, and there's plenty of time for him to improve. Maybe by the end of the season he'll have established himself as first choice. It's just my opinion that ultimately him and Zaba won't be good enough.

I didn't say Micah was good enough - I said it'd be a shame for him to leave. There's a subtle difference there which I think even you can grasp.
