He has to improve and more than likely will, but being through with 2 clear chances and not converting at least one doesn’t do him any favours.
He is a skilful player without doubt, but imo too predictable.
Hopefully he will up his game soon.

Having thought about it Mahrez hasn't played bad at all, he's still the same player, the only thing missing is the fight and the ruthless streak he showed at Leicester. Right now he is just wanting to do too much himself, maybe being a bit too nice at other times with the opposition because he doesn't feel quite as much a City player yet which is understandable. When he feels truly at home, I think that side will come out of him and along with being more comfortable with the system and Pep's guidance, we'll have a great player on our hands hopefully.

As an aside does anyone think we're not quite as welcoming to new signings as some other clubs?

I'm not saying we should go full bin dipper and hype them to high heaven the minute they step on the pitch but I do feel we can be quite negative and impatient on the whole at times. Maybe it just seems like other clubs don't do it as much from the outside though.

Some are totally fucking hostile towards new signings - you would never believe that the player becomes one of ours .

I was just comparing the Salah signing to the Mahrez one, didn't Salah struggle to find the net when he first signed for them for a good while(half a season)? I have a feeling he'd have got slaughtered by our fans which might have changed his season.
