If there's one thing I hate it's being told to give a player time.

He's a £60m player who's played in the PL for five seasons. He's not good enough and I don't think he's an improvement in the slightest.

His big moment this season he fluffed and I'm sure that Sancho would have better numbers.

We've dropped a bollock with this signing.

Yeah, i'm really confused. I think it's something between incomprehension of the instructions and... stress ? City fans think they know Mahrez as he's now here for 6 months but i can't remember one game where i recognized him. It's not about the opposition or him failing what he want to do. It's him playing a way i've never seen before.

He's basically now a cross/backward passes merchant. The boy was incredible creating magic from nothing while being marked by 2/3 defenders with less possession... And now that he has all the space he wants to express himself, nothing ? Nah it has to be something else. I think i said it before, we're not in a situation where Mahrez is at 100% of his abilities and failing everything he tries. He's not even at 50% and he tries nothing except from piss poor crosses.

Thanks for your input, it makes me more confident that we will see the real Mahrez eventually.

To be honest, I think it’s more the “big fish, small pond” scenario.

The only part that slightly concerns me is that he doesn’t look particularly happy/settled and maybe there’s an integration problem?

Edit....seen the mention of you maybe not being a Leicester fan.

Lol,the price tag jibe is nonsense with fees as they are,everyone knows peps style takes time to learn,even some of our players who were used to playing attacking football took time,he has come from the opposite style but you don't want to give him time,ridiculous

Your second post was reminding us you had also signed Naymar previously! Now here you are pretending to be a Leicester fan whilst mocking Mahrez.

But i am haha, i'm not English but this is the team i follow in PL.

Concerning the "Big fish, small pond" i think you're pretty much right but not in the sense of him shining with less good players around him. It's about him taking more responsibilities, being THE player. Different situation at City, he's not overshadowed by his teammates, he's overshadowed by himself by doing nothing more than the strict minimum. He can actually have the same impact at City that he used to have at Leicester, he just have to play like Mahrez and not this Made in China.
