This is a quality saga.

Bids, no bids, City in pole, scum in pole, Juve in pole, Juve not interested, scum skint, etc etc.

Fuck knows how it will all end up.

Wenger says Arsenal have received no bids after Baconface said United had made a bid. Two pathological liars so who knows which is telling the truth.
Well Mancini has said after the game that City have not made a bid.

What reason would he have to admit to us making a bid?
To answer a question.

You think they have both been mis-reported or are lying?

Being very diplomatic if you ask me.

Agreed. Said he hadn't made a bid (personally). Then said if thats what Arsene said then we musn't have bid for the player!!!

Quite funny. Can afford to approach this season relaxed and confident. I always said that a City bid for RVP was irrational whilst we had Dzeko, Tevez, Sergio and Balotelli

Playing devil's advocate, my theory is that RvP is coming to City however the deal won't get done until near the start of season or end of window.

Benefits both teams really; City because we want to shift the deadwood and Arse as they don't want to get raped when they try and buy new players with clubs knowing they've got 20mil in the bag from us. IIRC Wenger said he wanted it sorted by start of the season which suits all parties, we don't need to panic about getting him integrated as we've already got decent strikers at the club. Hence everyone denies anything going on until necessary.

Probably complete bollocks but sounds good to me! ;-)

No bids... but that isnt saying they havent been in contact...

both sides laid a marker, now its down to who blinks first... could be a long drawn out boring game all summer.

Was it the BBC who reported the 'supposed' bids?

We've seen all our front men saying that they are staying, we've also heard Mancini state that he wants all our front men to stay. We then hear that Juve haven't bid and now no bids.

Who was saying this was a done deal?

maybe this !

just look 3 mounths ago RVP posted a photo him and his agent with a guy who sit near khaldoun

Bit of a tricky one this.

We currently have the best strike pairing in Europe IMO with Aguero and Tevez, but Tevez treated the club like shite and is prone to doing so again.

RVP is quality but injury prone, but I would hate him going to the RAGS as he would improve them to another level.

I hope Tevez settles down and appreciates the 2 restaurants Manchester offers and RVP goes Italian and City concentrate on players we need.

IMO mate, city are not involved on the saga, it's everyone else involving us.
We will bid and be successful in the fullness of time. RvP will be in blue I'm sure of it.

-- Fri Jul 27, 2012 8:41 pm --

I think Poldolski is a better player than RVP tbh

I believe all 3 have or had an interest.

If Tevez had followed through with his wish to leave the club we'd have probably done the deal. I don't think it will happen now though, and I hope it doesn't as I rate Tevez as the better player.

But on reflection Wenger and Mancini's comments may not mean too much as you don't show your hand when their are rivals around until you know the player will accept and the seller will accept, otherwise you risk an auction and maybe gazumped.

Don't get me wrong, I believe that we have shown interest and it's good business to keep your options open but it has been now shown that an interest is all that's been shown, no bid as has been reported.

Just a further point, I think Van Persie, or at least is agent, has been actively pursuing a move for some time now with the recent tapping up claims being reported wrong - it was them putting feelers out, not us.

Also, I believe that Wenger is well aware of all that has been going on shown by his early purchases of Podolski and Giroud. They seem to be actively encouraging him to leave by not giving him any hope with a change in stance to player purchase. He got them the lucrative CL money so it was worth keeping him on another year but they clearly want the money from his transfer now.

Personally, I'd be glad if he seen out his contract and fucked them off.
