With 1 year on his contract, buying him for anything more than 15m is stupid really especially as he wants big wages and is 29. The sensible price would be around 12m but that is never going to happen.

Nasri was a one off in my opinion.

Unless my recollection of the rule is incorrect (and it may well be) if you buy out your contract you can only move to a foreign club.

-- Sat Aug 04, 2012 7:22 pm --

No idea why I quoted you......... see it's age getting to me, I wanted to put it in response to the poster who said about the 7m buyout.......

Why not go for Leandro Damiao instead, 23 yrs old and a prolific goalscorer, and he works back?

because he didnt come from our A. Elite Development squad

I genuinely don't think RVP wants to go to City.

If that was the case he would of been sold already to Juventus or the scum

Why?

If someone doesn't fancy a move to City, that instantly means they must have signed for someone else?

This case is a bit atypical

Maybe Juve or the Rags aint offering the right deal in both transfer fee to satisfy Le Arse or wages to satisfy RvP

Hope he goes to Juve to be honest

I think he's desperate to sign for City.

Care to tell me what gives you that impression?

In my opinion the deal with Van Persie was agreed ages ago, and the delay is Arsenal trying to squeeze as much money as possible out of City by trying to create an auction, but City won't be bullied because we know the player wants to sign for us.

im still under the impression that we wont be sucked into a bad deal money wise for rvp(high fee based on his age, injury record, and high wages) dont think marwood or khaldoon would let that happen. I'd also be kinda surprised if the deal was announced done and signed before we let go of ppl like ade/dzeko(it seems) as if rvp signs before dzeko is gone it drastically decreases his value, why u ask? we cant keep 5 top strikers and dzeko would more than likely be the one to make way for him. so if dzeko isnt gone every other club is going to realise we would be in a pinch to offload him this transfer window and probably even in the winter and would continually lowball us on offers since the onus would be more on us trying to offload him than the other club wanting to buy

think that makes sense

So you think a deal has been agreed between the two clubs, yet Arsenal want more money?

Therefore, how can a deal be agreed?

No, agreed between Van Persie (via his agent) and City. As I explained above, the delay could be Arsenal trying to get more money for him, or City wanting to offload players first. Your turn. Why do you think RVP doesn't want to sign for City?
