funnily enough he was quoted as saying exactly the opposite to that a couple of weeks ago

Source?

i aint going to go back trawling through the internet to find it. I cannt be bothered

but it was on SSN just after he left and on other websites etc

it went something along the lines of wanting to get fit and playing at santos, go to world cup and then he wanted to return to city to play and prove himself there

If the guy has any desire to one be considered one of the best in the world he's going to have to come back to Europe and impress. If he's happy being a big fish in a small pond then he's not the type of character we want. For the record I loved him and defended him to the end. His behaviour over the next year will have a huge impact on how he's viewed by me.

I wonder, do Santos have a 1bn quid development programme in place? ;-)

It was always doomed to failure, the Robbie signing. For me he put us 'on the map' in terms of people seeing him sign for us, and put in 2 or 3 good performances. I've seen lesser named players do better, but get slated more though, and I think the fact he is 'Robinho' clouded alot of blues. I hope he doesn't come back, he doesn't work well for our team and in all honesty is proving the level he can perform at right now, a league equal to what, League one? He did his job, he put our clubs name on peoples lips, and so for that I thank him. Now its time to move on and sign players who can cut it in the league.

That's a very blinkered view of Brazilian football.

come on then mr expert on brazilian football, pray tell me mr expert where do these brazilian footballers make a name for themselves, is it in the pub standard football of brazil or over on the european stage..... I'll let you into a secret psssttttttt its not in Brazil!

psssstttttt

PELE

Possibly the greatest player of all time (maybe aside from Maradona) played over 1,000 games in Brazil. Never played in Europe.

If the league was 'Pub Standard' why would European teams even bother snapping up the talent. I mean, there aren't many Real Madrid scouts watching the Wagon & Horses play are there?

Obviously the players make a name for themselves in Brazil. Ronaldo did at Cruzeiro, Ronaldinho did at Gremio, Romario did at Vasco. I could go on, but you've made your mind up on a player off the back of a handful of performances when nowhere near fit so there isn't much point. I'll let you get back to your tub-thumping. I hear that Adebayor is quite lazy....

Was the biggest Robinho fan until he tucked tail and ran back to Brazil. As they say when the going gets tough the tough gets going. Robinho is just another Adriano and Denilson. They all think they are the best players and don't need to improve. Real Brazil Legends Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, Roberto Carlos, etc, etc didn't run home when they had problems making the starting XI. Robinho in the end is happy made his money and starts for Brazil.

Robinho just didn't have the work ethic to be the best. Don't mean running back defending with the center halves. Mean off the pitch. Here in the states we call it the Michael Jordan philosophy. Basically means to be the best you have to practice longer and harder than anyone else.

Now to the 10-0 Santos game. Robinho is suppose to be in his prime, played in the tougher leagues and yet he only scores one goal. Playing forward for a team that scores ten goals. Not impressive at all. Not saying don't celebrate or don't play with a smile of your face but those over the top celebrations against a team your beating ten nil tells a lot. Scoring that many goals tells you the other team isn't competitive. Who gets that excited for beating a weaker team. Thats like if City crushed Notts County 10-0 and we got all excited grantee Tevez won't act like he won the lottery. Be happy you scored but realize who it was against and what one goal means in a ten nil massacre.

Sorry for rant was holding that in since the coward left.

the fact that you used the word "Nuff" makes me even less inclined to bother, I know Im telling the truth and you know the point Im trying to make which is simply that the media in general will misquote, mislead and generally make up things which are generally untrue

For the record I dont think Robbie will want to come back and part of me doesnt blame his after some of the abuse he has got on here and in the stands by fans........from leading goal scorer one season to a focus of abuse in about a season just shows the fickle nature of some of our so called fans
