Look at the Madrid side we beat. La Liga champions yet had a midfield slower than Rodri and Gundogan.

Then you have current Barca, dicked by Liverpool last year and completely overrun against Bayern last night. Slow midfields just don’t cut the mustard any more against the best sides in Europe. Worryingly, our midfield is getting slower and slower.
