I like him in a back 3, because he can move in midfield, he is tall and strong, makes sense,

This team is going to have to improve a lot to see the best of Rodri. My impression of him so far, is that he will look fucking magnificent in a team that dominates and wins every week. This current side is clearly struggling a bit and is nowhere near the levels of the past 2 seasons and in a side like this, he currently doesn’t look the answer. Certainly a level or two below the Fernandinho of the past 2 seasons.

Just remember he's a new player in a team that's suffered from being disjointed this season.

Reminds me a lot of Fernandinho of 3 seasons ago when we had our issues.

Steady on man. World class? de Bruyne is world class! Rodri has been poor in half the games he’s played for us. He looked good at centre half yesterday and looks a centre half to me, that’s where he should play.

He can play CB or DM. His ability to drop in between the two centre backs is important because what Pep really likes to play is 3-4-3, with the DM as a virtual CB. Yesterday in the second half it was a bit more than virtual.

Rodir isn't what I refer to as a shuttle run guy, like Dinho or Kante are, and so he needs to develop his positioning and reading of the game to become a great DM. He has the brains for that and the technical skills to be a top midfield player.
