Your right Pjanic should be more accurately described as a deep lying playmaker than a DM.
Although occupying that dm space he does not carry out his role in the ndombele, Eric dier, kante sense of the word. Pjanic, Gundogan occupy that same DM space but execute the role more like Pirlo, with the emphasis on creating from deep rather than to screen and or destroy.
 
If players are paying their own release clauses there has to be a way around FFP.

Rodri has been the main target this summer. Athletico Madrid fans are not happy. Their best player last season and very young leaving for 60M...in today's market City could well have a fantastic bargain here. I have a similar feeling about this Rodri signing as I had when we got Bernardo for 43M...and what an incredible transfer that has turned out to be.

Why the hell we were not on this deal last summer? Atletico just bought him for 20m euros from Villarreal 2018 summer. Now he is moving for 70m euros.Our highly paid scouts surely should come up with these kind of transfers bit more often than scouting De Ligt or Maguire for us when they are already costing fortunes...

He always wanted to go back to Atletico, he would have turned us down last summer I think.
