the next window and the new season. this one has gone so bloody flat i want it gone. can't be arsed with palace, not sure i even care about going to the swamp, to the point i am thinking of taking a snap ski trip to a high resort somewhere in the french alps. unheard of. all that said i can't wait to see the comings and goings in the next few months. this squad, indeed the club have needed a spring clean since we won the title the first time round. i think exciting times are ahead and they can't come quick enough for me. the highlight being the champions league "draw" and to see when we play bayern again. our owners know what they are doing and i think it will be like 2008 all over again. great great players coming in. i want to rip the prem a new one next season.

that seems like something talksport would say to get the punters phoning in ,is bluemoon not having enough traffic ?? ,

It's both funny and shocking that there's seemingly a tiny little corner of Bluemoon that is shocked to find City supporters actually defending the club and the people employed by the club, and in fact, defending the season we've had so far too. A season of under performance most certainly, but then unless you started watching City and football in the last few years, you'll be well aware that even the greatest teams ever have under performing and trophyless seasons.

Nice to see someone making a strong case for the least self aware person on the Internet...

It's like rain on your wedding day.
It's a free ride when you've already paid.
It's the good advice that you just didn't take.
And who would have thought? It figures.

International breaks are really a bore though. We need some form of light entertainment even if it's of the lowest common denominator variety!

Nope, not said anywhere that the supporters are to blame for the team under performing. But bravo for putting big words in my mouth!

Some of the worst performances have been away when we've been getting behind the team!

That said, we are still second and have a track record of strong finishes to the season. Hopefully the long trip to Palace will be worth it and I don't regret handing over my rugby league season cards for Monday's games!

I think it's fair to say we've been much better away from home than at home this season.

In terms of the title, barring a minor miracle I think it's gone. I'll reassess if Stoke beat Chelsea though! :)[/quote

I'd now be happy with 2nd but Come on Stoke all the same!!

I think the Club / Txiki will up our game in the Summer transfer market and we will start next season on a high!

Are you on a fucking wind up? Are you saying fans, match going fans are to blame for the team under performing?

Your post quoting stony seems like you are, your post above saying fans don't know how to support the club makes you look like a clever ****.

You're talking out of your arse, if you'd have said that to me or my mates or the majority of fans who left the such grounds like, Upton park, Turf Moor, Anfield, to name a few, that we are partly to blame for such shite performances or that we should be grateful, youd have got a fucking good kicking, and you know it. The majority of us have been blues for years, so getting beat is second nature to us, we don't mind getting beat, we dont mind the odd shit performance and no one on here as mentioned Mancini, only you. So if some of us say this season, we have under performed its because we know this club can and should be doing much better, which shows how much we rate this squad considering we are 2nd in the League. You coming on here belittling City fans, makes you look at ****.

I'll go back to reading the form now, just thought I'd point that out, Merci.

I'd be gutted if we don't finish second primarily because it'll mean we lost the derby. If we win or take a point at Old Trafford we will finish 2nd comfortably IMO.

Careful about being optimistic about the summer mate. You'll be being accused of being a delusional fascist who's trying to censor opinions! :)

Jokes aside though, I agree about this summer and beyond. I think the greatest gift that Sheikh Mansour has given us is long term stability. It's the one thing we have over everyone else in the league including the likes of Arsenal and the rags. We have a backbone to the club which ensures that success will be consistent over the medium and long term. It's not just about money, it's about having the right people in the key positions and having an organisation which communicates from top to bottom.

The redemption of Txiki is just round the corner. I look forward to reviewing his reviews on the 1st of September!

Just read the view of someone I know and whose views I respect on another forum and he reckons that the high of 2012, particularly the twists and turns of that incredible last day, spoilt it for us to the extent that a season which could easily see us come second, having played in the last 16 of the CL, is classed as a boring failure.

I disagree. It isn't coming second, being shite in Europe again, or going out of the cups early that is pissing people off. It's the stubbornness of the manager and his complete lack of tactical awareness and the lacklustre effort from some players.
City fans can't win. If we moan about shit tactics, lazy players and a poor transfer strategy, we get labelled as 'spoilt'.
If we say we are happy just to be competing and in the top 4, we get labelled as "ickle city fans" who haven't moved on from the Swales/Lee era.
We can't win.
Personally I see this seasons failure as a culmination of a few things. A manager who is too set in his ways to change and make the most of the talent he has on tap. Players who are no longer hungry, players whose heads are elsewhere, and players that are being asked to do too much and are in dire need of a rest.
Whatever the problem is, it isn't the fans.
I think you've missed the point or maybe I didn't express it very well. Yes I totally agree it's been a disappointing season on the pitch as too many players haven't performed to their potential and the manager has made some baffling selections and decisions. It's also the first season since 2008/9 when we haven't reached at least a cup semi final. But we see it as a "failure" rather than a bit of a disappointment because we still judge things against that amazing 95 minutes in 2012.

we've been in worse positions and won the title, albeit not chasing a side managed by Mourinho, but it's a long way from over yet. Chelsea still have some tough games to come and they will drop points at some point.

There seems to be an overall opinion that the season has not been good but a lot better than the dross of Stuart Pearce and the good old days at Maine Road.

I would agree but we should all remember that our owner and his right hand man set out targets for the Club prior to each season and I doubt these have come anywhere near to being met.

1. Champions League I suspect they banked on a quarter final or better
2. Premiership no worse than third if we could not retain it.
3. Domestic cups, win one and have a good run in both would probably been expected.

So though a lot of you are not too disappointed I think the owner will not share your opinions.

Somebody's head will roll and the under performing players are on borrowed time.
