I will be surprised if we get through but heres hoping.
Without our four acknowledged world-class players (is Merlin definitely out, by the way?) I honestly think it would be nothing short of miraculous. BUT. But several things comfort me. Jimmy Milner is playing his socks off at present, and is in fine form. Likewise Nasri. Fernandinho is coming back into the form of last season at just the right time. And we have Lampard, who knows games like this like the back of his hand. We could just get a scoring draw and, if I've understood correctly, we go through if Bayern beat CSKA. Which I expect them to do, weakened team or not.
I'm pretty relaxed about it. To have gone out without recording any kind of win would have been disgraceful. Well, we've got the win, and not against just anybody. Everything else is bonus. Had we completely fucked up in the league, this tie would look different to me. Now, if we go through, it's icing on the cake.
Do it, blue boys. Just for fun…

The atmosphere will be unbelievable!
I think this is one of those games where we are just going to do the business. I think they will be a lot more nervous then us and we seem to be in good form! Even without aguero, I reckon we'll win on the night.

Hopefully the game will pass by without any trouble but I doubt it. It's Roma's biggest game of the season and their fans are a bunch of fascist thugs, don't expect there to be too much protection from the police in or outside the ground either, seem to remember the Rags being charged by police for no reason a few years back and Spurs fans were stabbed there last year.

for us yes, not so much for bayern who have a winter break very soonMarvin said:I don't think Bayern will be easing off too much. Its important to maintain momentum at this stage in the season, and if fringe players come in, it's a chance for them to show what they can do in a high profile gamebayern blade said:Bayern have a big game away at 3rd placed Augsburg on Saturday and look like playing a much weakened team v Moscow according to German media.
Kicker has the line up as follows :
Neuer
Rafinha
Dante
Boateng
Bernat
Hojbjerg
Schweinsteiger
Rode
Götze
Shaqiri
Lewandowski
Müller, Robben, Ribery and Xabi Alonso are all left out, along with Benatia (suspended) and Thiago, Lahm, Badstuber, Alaba, Pizarro and Martinez (injured).
I wish City were in that situation. The City v CSKA Moscow game at City was a farce and I still can't believe that we didn't win that game
