Running thread

First run after 3 weeks off recovering from tendonitis (well I did a very steady run/walk 5 Miles at the start of the week).

20:04 parkrun, which is a shame but I didn’t have anything to give at the finish. My PB is 19:42 so glad I haven’t lost minutes in that time and I have done a bit of drinking and eating heartily in that period.

Sub-19 is the goal, with sub 40 10k and a couple sprint triathlons hopefully after the new year.

Couple of weeks off for me with injury hopefully back at it next week.

37 is great mate! It’ll come down if you keep putting it in!

The best thing that helped with me was a structured session weekly that focused on speed and recovery. Brought my times down by over 2 minutes in a couple of months when I had plateaued.

My short speeds haven’t suffered with my half marathon work yet either so hoping they all keep down!

I’ve got the Great North Run next week so need a steady longer run now. It’s a shame how it played out, managed to get off in the second zone and was hoping no to push 1:30 but it’s not likely now.

Hope your recovery time pays dividends mate.

Trafford 10k in March is a great course for a pb - I got mine there when I used to run

How old are you mate if you don’t mind me asking? Your times are quality btw. I’d love to be sub 20 but feel it’s probably out of reach now. Be glad once I’m under 21:00

25 mate, still a nipper compared to some of the people I run with! Thanks!

I struggled for ages to get under 21 at first. That hurdle fell on a day I wasn’t feeling it and least expected. Dont give up on it mate.
