Running thread

Ran 42:40ish at Wilmslow 10k this morning.

Didn't get the sub 40 or the pb but fastest time this year. Didn't have the best preparation going into it.

Was on pace for the sub 40 until about 4k. The heat was tough and made me a bit apprehensive about pushing for it.

Are any of you lads overpronators? My favourite shoes (Nike React Miler) have been discontinued so I've been trying out an alternative - Structure 25. Since I'm a world-famous YouTuber now, I had a go at one of these review vids that all the cool kids do nowadays.

I'm on the lookout for some good support shoes if you can make any recommendations.

Have to say reading this thread has helped me get back into running and achieve better fitness.

My daughter has just completed the couch to 5k programme. This week I have been out early morning runs between 3-5k with her. Also continued with the cycle classes at the gym.

Losing on average 1lb a week.

Going to be warm tomorrow, but feeling optimistic I can run my fastest 5k parkrun since restarting in February. Been alternating venues to not really focus on times up to this point.

Running regularly now at 31min pace.

My goal was to go under 30mins and lose weight within 6 months.
Fantastic that mate well done

Just ambled around cala dor in the early 24 degree heat, ended up being a bit more of a sightseeing exercise as opposed to a focused run

Managed just over 5k before calling it a day, don't recall having sweated that much before in my life!

Over here until Monday so will try and get out again, but I do feel a little less guilty about lieing on a sun lounger all day

All right lads? How's the running going? Do you like the warm weather for it or do you consider it a hindrance? Personally I fucking HATE the cold so I'm grateful for the higher temperatures, even though it brings about its own challenges.

I work in a school and it's now the holidays which means I can work probably 80% from home, and at hours that suit me, so therefore I can ramp up the training over the next 6 weeks before tapering for the Great North Run. I haven't done a great job so far and I'm quite badly overweight so it's unlikely that I'll be going for any PBs... Anyway, we will see.

I'm thinking about getting myself some super shoes and was wondering if you lads had any recommendations.

Halfway through my Great North Run training and not sure if I should be panicking or not...

I've also added a poll to my YouTube channel. It would help me out if a few people clicked on an option or two. Cheers!

I did the Decathlon 5k at Woodbank and Vernon Park this morning. Think it is similar to the Parkrun route.

It was raining and I found that better to run. It was 2 laps of certain parts of the route - which meant a brutal hill to encounter twice , with cobbles near the top.

Enjoyed it and did 32 minutes, which considering the steep slope it was a good run for me. My Garmin predictor suggests 28mins on recorded data so I am heading in the right direction.

2.5 warm lunchtime miles today. Noticed new running group near me doing 5k on Monday and Thursday evenings at 8. Have said I'll maybe go along in few weeks as busy next couple weeks. Time suits me better than others which go at 6 or 6.30. if I'm in office working don't get home until 6.30
