Running thread

Isabel Trail Parkrun in Stafford completed this morning in 29:43. My lungs still don't seem to be able to cope too well with cold dry air following 2 bouts of pneumonia involving hospitalisation 12 years ago. However, had to walk a bit on the return (known in the trade as "Jeffing" I believe?) before my usual sprint finish.

Took more than a minute off my parkrun, 23:51 at Oak Hill (East Barnet in North London). Pleased with that.

Today, intention was to continue marathon training with 30k. Unfortunately, weird pain spasms in my left hip after 18k saw me call the run to a halt. After a bit of research I'm none the wiser as to what I may have done. It feels like bruising but no reason to be bruised, don't think it's a stress fracture as I can support my weight. Who knows, a few days rest will hopefully do the trick..

Take it easy fella. Let us know how you get on in a few days. Might be worth a visit to a physio if it's still there.

Not ran for 2 weeks. Due to losing mojo, had 3 party weekends last 3 weeks. Stag do in Scotland, my sister's 60th in Belfast/Dublin then an 18th birthday party and weekend in Gloucester. Back at it today with 5k and lunchtime. February was my highest milage month with 49 miles (I didn't run for the last week of it) Just under 2 weeks to my HM, not too bothered about time due to the above just happy to finish

Just done my midweek training run from Castlefield Basin to Throstles Nest Footbridge and back along the Bridgewater Canal.
Can't be believe Julia Roberts went to see the Scum at the Swamp but couldn't be arsed coming out to cheer me on. Lazy cow!
