Has anyone done 75hard? View attachment 58147

I'm thinking of having a go, maybe with 10 miles a day, should be a cracking way to get fit, and with the added bonus it will stop me going over the top on the booze at Xmas
There's 76 days of the year left from Sunday. 76 harder!! Anyone else fancy a go?
Not heard of it. TBH, if you have to do that for 75 consecutive days, I would not manage it. Maybe I could if I started in March.

What have they go against Audio Books!

I think if anything helps you mash out a new habitual groove then all the better.
Not sure I could do all that though. I do like to relax at the weekend and it's a reward for the other healthy routine I partially obsess over (upside of having a form or OCD).

I seem to be struggling a bit with running fitness at the moment. Got back from a week in Copenhagen on Friday having not exercised for the duration & eaten unhealthily & drunk loads, so had gained a few pounds.
Did a Parkrun on Saturday & had to walk sections of it as I was out of shape, taking about a minute longer than recent times.
Went out for another 5k run this morning & had to take a 5 minute breather half way through. It could have been the cold air this morning, or the fact that I'd had my COVID & flu booster jabs yesterday, but I haven't felt that breathless for a few months.
Any tips on how to recover fitness & avoid breathlessness are very welcome!

read an article togay about this bloke:
Benny Eriksson har sprungit på alla Stockholms gator.

He's run every street in the city limits of Stockholm in a year (or will have by the end of the month).
En bild från Bennys löp-app. Den blå linjen markerar Stockholm stad, den lila markerar var Benny har sprungit.

Interesting idea for anyone who is looking for a challenge.
In total about 3000km that he's split over 200 runs.

I’ve run down every street in Manchester.

……… Every Street is just off Great Ancoats St in town. I used to live right near it.

13km done today, longest run since I started training consistently 8-9 weeks ago.

Held roughly a 9 minute mile pace (5:40/km) for most of it, tried to keep my HR around 160bpm, finished at a sub 8min mile pace (4:40/km) for the last 3km.

Felt great, it's mad how much of a buzz running gives you. It wiped me out after I got in though.

Think I'm going to look at doing a 10km race in December, anyone know of any decent ones?

This is a great idea. I've posted the translated link to my local running club, which is Lymm Runners. It should be much easier in our village, but still a decent challenge as it's not a small village.

Does anyone know of an app that could accumulate a series of runs as the guy has done here?

Just completed my first post Copenhagen 5k run without having to walk in sections. Must have finally burnt off all that craft beer & bacon!
Seriously though, I think my recent issues have been physiological. I went out with the mindset of "you are not allowed to stop" this morning.

I haven't ran since my HM over 2 weeks ago. Had a few days rest then got Covid so been testing positive for 10 days. Anyone got any advice as feeling bit better and ready to maybe try couple of miles some morning this week. Still get headache some mornings and little bunged up so still got few symptoms. Edited to say just tested negative. Cheers

I've just signed up for the 2023 Manchester Marathon, which will be my 1st Marathon. Any tips or advice on refuelling during the race? When I've done Half Marathons in the past, I've only ever needed water during the race. Also how do you carry all the stuff with you in training or on race day itself?

Good luck with the training.I tend to take 5 gels with me for a marathon.Get used to having them on your long training runs.Have a look at a running belt or a gel belt for carrying stuff. No need to carry water as there are enough water stations.

Nice one.

I'm thinking about doing Manchester as I haven't got in to London this year.

Gels are easy enough to carry on a belt or in pockets; sports drinks are different... I sometimes carry one from the start or stash one or two, or plan to run past the house.

I really don't think there's need for them during most of the training period though (especially in the winter) but as you approach race day it's a good idea to be trying out your fuelling and making it work for you.
