Did a 10km road run 2 weeks ago, in an effort to get ready to do a 10k race to use up an entry for a pal who was injured. Instead ended up injuring myself by getting a sore knee when running downhill at about 7km.
Bit gutted, physio session hasn’t really helped, other than lightening my walllet. Her main advice was I need to strengthen my core/do Pilates, which I don’t disagree with, but doesn’t help with my immediate knee problem.
Swimming still ok to do, but been out walking today and can still feel the knee - pain behind the kneecap, which I’ve never had before. Will try some cycling this week to see if that’s ok. I could cope with running less, but to only be able to swim would drive me bananas as I’m not the greatest fan of it really. Even once a week is a struggle.
Thanks for posting that. Yes, I think I will try a different one; I do know of two others, one of whom is linked to our local running club. Even though it will cost, it might still be worth a go bearing in mind that going via my GP to see an NHS specialist you’re looking at a 2 year wait, and going private to see a specialist is a couple of hundred pounds I think.Ah I had a subpar physio at first too, helps to get a physio who knows running, the first guy I saw in Bury was rubbish in all honesty. Eventually bit the bullet and went to a different one who was well recommended in Barnsley, he knew what was going on with my knee straight away, regretted not going sooner.
Valencia marathon tomorrow, have been wiped out for two weeks with a virus and not been able to run, have done three runs in Valencia and not felt great at all, gutted as I have been building up to this all year as a sub3 attempt, will run tomorrow and hopefully make it round
Parkrun (207)
23:36 , Fastest Parkrun of the year and my second fastest ever. 3 weeks off the booze and running every day this month helped.

Which one?I highly recommend a running light from Amazon.
Which one?
Well done mate. I've skipped today as we've got all sorts of family stuff to arrange. This morning's Isabel Trail Parkrun on the "B" course involving 4 laps of Stafford rugby club completed in 28:12 which is a new PB.
Not bad for an overweight retired bloke powered by last night's chippy tea.
It all seems a rehash of the usual stuff they trying to get rid of mate, is it a specific type your after? Daily/speed/trail etc??Hi all.
Have you seen any good sales in running shoes cropping up? I'm in the market for some...
