I repeat, their own minister for the economy and climate said they could, including using stocks and buying gas and coal from other sources. Just that it would cost more. So what price the devastation and destruction of Ukraine? They can't do that yet.
Yes it's been an incredibly stupid policy on the part of the Germans to drift towards dependance on Russian oil and gas, but it's a new German government at the wheel, they've acted as strongly as they can without risking German lives from freezing cold, and in a couple of weeks when spring arrives properly I think they'll cut it off ASAP.
Not really worth berating them, especially as our own response has been far weaker than Boris' initial bluster suggested.
Then let’s hope China get a grip of him, the whole planet goes up, no point in standing on the sidelines then is there? That is a frightening possibility/probability.
It's not point scoring though is it? They are facts we need to do more!Well said.
All this bullshit about our sanctions being better than others or before others or we’re doing the most to help is fucking tiresome.
Firstly it’s mostly not true and secondly we should all be supporting each other and Ukraine against the enemy rather than scoring cheap points.
We know why you're doing this. (Too much Telegraph reading?)They are DDR/Soviet era useless weapons. Clearly it is more important to prioritise VW exports.
The Brexit bunch are just looking for any opportunity to slag off anything European.
You should give the anti-EU rhetoric a rest for once. Or do it on the politics forum.
Putin hasn’t got away with this. Even if manages to occupy Ukraine he’s lost because he’s managed to isolate his country, trashed the economy and is well on the way to making millions of the population destitute.
Sounds like extreme Brexit ;-)
Who play by the rules and are to scared to question them when the ref goes rogue. He’s a school yard bully.
Ukraine are the little kid two years below, who admittedly is proper gobby and scared of nobody.
We/NATO are the entire 6th form rugby team.
we are leading the sanctions,
