We will have to disagree. Apart from Bolton where he got lucky he has ruined most clubs he has been anywhere near. His brand of football is why our national team has mostly been a laughing stock for 50 years.

You don't finish in the top eight of the Premier League for four consecutive seasons, qualify for the UEFA Cup twice and reach a League Cup final just by being lucky.

Wenger wasn't exactly someone who was obsessed by tactical nuances so it's hardly a surprise he woldn't dick around with coaching such things to his players. It had nothing to do with their level though.

You'd be wrong then, they finished 8th.

Of the seven teams that finished above them, they could have only have been realistically expected to finish higher than Burnley, who had an exceptional season.

It's quite funny looking at Fat Sams managerial career, he's essentially done exactly the same at every club he's been at. He pretty much wins as many as he loses, while drawing about 2/3rds as often as he wins/loses. He won marginally more often at Bolton, but that's largely due to his two years in the Championship there and he lost marginally more at Sunderland, but they are Sunderland.

He's essentially made a career out of completely nullifying the quality of his players and making them all play at exactly the same level.
