I think everyone is being a bit harsh on him. His confidence was shot from the tottenham game and mancini shouldn't have started him, but he did and it was a mistake you could see that from kick off.

I think he'll come good but the rest of the season is needed to build his confidence back up and an arm round the shoulder from people like Kompany will help him

I wouldn't write him off at 21, but I agree he was awful last night. I'd put that mainly down to confidence though

Why all the abuse for the player, it's the manager who picks him and puts him on the pitch. He's not ready and out of his depth at the moment. So if your looking for scape goat. Mancini is to blame.

I'd agree with that. It is no lack of effort from Savic so not his fault. I'm all for managers showing faith in players but not when that faith is so obviously misplaced. Last night's performance from him was so predictable. I texted my son on Monday saying I thought we had a great chance but that the prospect of Savic playing at a packed Anfield in a semi final was terrifying. If we can see it then Mancini can see it, he obviously decided that showing faith and not dropping the lad was more of a priority than winning the match.

Yes, maybe Savic plays like Franco Baresi in training every day so Mancini gives him another chance only to find that on the day of the match he has turned into Alan Kernaghan (with added panic).
