Savic and his all round game

I remember Kompany used to make horror mistakes here and there in his first year at City too, but look at him now. Savic will come good eventually as well. There's not much young defenders as classy as he is right now imo, just give him time though.

Unfortunately, we need his height to combat Carroll on Wednesday, so he may have to start. Every player goes through a bad patch. This time next season he will be dynamite, wait and see.

he played well, biggest fault was mistiming a few jumps for headers (one which led to the goal), was excellent at marking defoe out of the game, incisive passing to aguero on a few occasions got us out of our "ultra conservative passing in the defense phase after 10-20 minutes" . Intercepted practically every cross from their left attack as well.

In his defence for the first goal the ball was just an inch or 2 too high for him, it wasn't a back header by any means. It was hoofed ball up front to a sprinter in Defoe. He was damned if he did if he didn't, he'd have had no chance in a foot race against Defoe if he hadn't tried for the interception.

Saying that, I do think he needs to go on loan so he gets his learning in at a club where he will be bombarded all the time - Wigan, Bolton, QPR etc. Playing in defence for City with our possession and the way teams play against us isn't the best learning experience for a CB.

As he is our 4th choice we would need to get in another CB before we could release him anyway.

Spot on.

City went gung-ho after scoring the 2nd and we were left exposed at the back. Let's not forget that Clichy & Kompany between them cocked up big-time for the Rags winner in the CS. It happens, and this lad is still young with plenty to learn.

If he hadn't made the error for Defoe's goal, there would've been NOTHING about Savic on here, other than maybe a 'handled today well' thread.

He made two errors all game, other than that he won almost every header, passed well, controlled well. One mistake and he becomes Bluemoon cannon fodder.
