Stupid Comparison!!! Forwards break through earlier and get opportunities off the bench where as defenders take longer to break through and are more reliant on developing physically. Managers also are less likely to trust defenders as they do forwards because it is easier to fuck up and cause a defeat, if a forward has a bad game you get him off, if a defender has a bad game and you take him off the defence is still unsettled and it may be too late anyway.

Caulker's 20 and a better player, Jones and Smalling are the same age and MUCH better than him.

The comparison is: Mario is 21 & looks like an outstanding prospect alongside other 21 year old strikers, Savic looks fucking shite compared to many other 21 year old defenders. Conclusion ?

Mario is probably going to be a top striker.

Savic probably isn't going to be a top defender.

Jones & Smalling are vastly overhyped & there is no guarantee either will be a top defender . They are also faster, better on the ball, better in the air, stronger, more composed & read the game better than Savic.

Hes a lot better than we give him credit for, he comfortable on the ball, pacey and good passing ability/ vision. But it was his first season and made some big mistakes off which a loan spell will benefit. Remember that German guy who we fucked off after 1 season think hes playing in the final on Sunday. Remember when Micah and Lescott where they didnt have our support...so imo a loan spell is good but would have preferred a PL club a championship club means mcfc have less faith in his ability

The German guy we fucked off, is a shithouse who is no good whatsoever in our league & he's just had a fucking nightmare defensively v Italy & was hauled off to boos from his own fans as he blatantly shit out of a tackle so he's not playing in the final at all. He is miles better than Savic though. Micah & Lescott at their worst were better than Savic in his best ever game.

If he comes back from a loan spell having learned to play football then great, we can use him. It doesn't change the fact that he's utterly useless now.

Our striker, Mario Balotelli scored 2 goals that knocked out Germany btw if you missed it.

Why are people so quick to judge him? Took vidic and evra a year to settle, not saying hes the next big thing but he is still young and for people that are comparing him to others in different positions defenders depend on reading the game, discipline and organisation, these coming with experience end of! A strikers skill set is completely different and can be mastered early in a career!
