Scotland at the Euros

Much better tonight. Good aggressive performance against a more than decent Swiss side. Rode our luck at times but had chances at others.

Injury to Tierney a huge blow, we're weak as fuck defensively as it is.

Need to beat Hungary on Sunday night, still not entirely sure where the goals come from for us but we've gave ourselves a fighting chance and I'm pleasantly surprised tbh.

Billy Gilmour must play, imo.

Mc Tom&Jerry trying to claim the most own goal of own goals is madness. If Scotland ditch that big Celtc diddy Ralston they have a chance on Sunday

The only reason Ralston is playing is because of injuries. He is well out of hys depth snd I too hope he doesn’t play. If you weren’t a Celtic hater, your focus would be, Clarke needs to stop picking Ralston. Ralston doesn’t pick the team, so put the blame where it belongs.

Good to get the draw, but we are still by far, the least technically gifted team I have seen so far in the competition. I thought we were poor, fought well blah blah. I thought McGinn and McGreggor were shit again. The Swiss were so much better on the ball and shouid have beat us. I watched Hungary v Germany and they looked far superior to us. We can’t defend and we are woeful up front. I would start Shankland. Unless all our midfield turn up the Hungarians will beat us. They certainly have nothing to fear. However, we find a bit of form and we can do them. So far, we haven’t got near to our form in the qualifiers. We need to.

I only caught the highlights and you still have a chance, one more game of blood and thunder and who knows?

Top national anthem very patriotic, the team though play in a style that is 20 years out of date and lack technique and composure on the ball. Don't see them getting past Hungary.

Something i've been thinking about and have been discussing it with a few others and we can't put a date on it but when did when decline in Scottish International football really start and when did it reach it's zenith, initially i'd say late 80s early 90s but Scotland did beat England in 1989 and were at Italia 1990 so maybe it was a decade later. I do recall Berti Vogts era being pretty grim so could it have been around the milennium?.

Sadly this is engrained at grassroots level. The younger youth Scotland teams go to international tournaments and often wipe the floor with opposition like Spain, Portugal, France, Netherlands purely because they are bigger and stronger than them, and it's a win at all costs attitude. When it comes to older teenage age groups though, the same footballers at Spain, Portugal etc have learned properly how to play football and have far better technique, skill and ability.

Too much focus at young age groups here in winning, less about actually developing good skillful players.

Players dropped from pro teams because they're too small, too lightweight, don't fit in with the physicalities of the football up here. Is it any wonder, with that attitude, that we don't develop players who are able to give something more than just pure effort and commitment?

This goes right down to kids at 5 and 6 years old btw, as soon as they get a touch on the ball a bigger lad from the opposition clatters them to the praise and adulation from their coaches and parents. What are we learning? It's so backwards.

I will be totally convinced we can hammer the Hungarians before the game. Technical expertise not our thing, blood and thunder? Hold our beer!
