I really do hope it is 'Yes' vote and they can go their own way and get on it with it.
The sooner the better for all concerned.
Plus it makes it much easier for the Tories to rule over the sensible folk of England.

Maybe the minority socialists in England would head for a new utopia in Cowdenbeath or Dunfermline

It sounds romantic.

I've yet to see a blue print of the future should the yes vote prevail. Will there be a boarder between England and Scotland, Will they have their own passport? Will they have access to such things as passport office, DVLA, broadcasting etc? If they have their own passport they should have no support or access to the British Embassies overseas.
In the experience of Singapore and Malaysia they are now 2 totally separate countries. I would like to see a fast track path to this end should a yes vote happen. As far as I can see from the press it has all been about how Scotland will be but no explanation about how they will get there and how the support of the rest of the Union will be tapered off. I hope the support will be very quickly and sharply stopped.
It appears to me that the yes party are presenting a type of nirvana but papering over the difficult parts. Independence is just that, independence with no reliance on other countries.

Good luck on you own!!

They'll have to set up a whole string of embassies and I can just see the infighting among SNP worthies as to who is gonna be the Ambassador to Afghanistan!

Will Scotland leaving the Union make my life in Manchester any different? Does them leaving hinder or benefit me?

It depends which way you see life and equality as it is.

Scotland leaving takes away a % of votes - most of which aren't for Tory. But whichever way Scotland have voted in the past hasn't mattered a shit because take our votes out of the equation and the outcome has always remained the same.

Without patronising anyone, I'd hope that if and when independence is gained, Scotland would demand a more equal, fairer society and hopefully the North of England could be inspired to demand the same.
That's untrue about whichever way Scotland has voted in the past not mattering.

On four occasions, the result would have changed including with the current coalition.

I am not sure that the English people will tolerate a buisiness as usual attitude from a newly independent Scotland, if they want to break from the Union so bit it, it's their choice but there will be consequences for them and there will be no going back once it's done, and when Salmon's Caledonia Utopia fails to emerge

I can't quite believe that they're going to do it. Hopefully this latest poll makes sure ALL the No voters turn out.

Scotland will be a poorer country once the oil runs out. They have very little else as a natural resource

And the rest of us will be poorer for it too. Not that that seems to matter.

As for it making the Tories stronger. Oh joy!

Although I still think/hope that sense will prevail and they do vote No. But it's going to be close.

Jocks are playing a blinder.
Bit of brinkmanship and Boy George is now bending over backwards to give them more financial concessions.
You've got to admire them.

What they haven't accepted is the currency union. Osbourne has stated they can not keep the pound, they can keep the name if they so wish, but it would mean as much to our exchequer as it's worldwide value dictates, like the Euro, Rand, Dollar or whatever. Plus I don't think they've realised that they will, literally become a foreign nation to us, and I can forsee some serious problems regarding borders, defence, and cooperation of the two governments in various inevitable disputes etc. Interesting times ahead.

Probably too little too late. The change in the polls and movement of people all feels eerily similar to how the 2011 Scottish elections panned out.
