Scottish independence

Enjoying reading your takes on this.I do have a vote but won't be using it.so who does my unused vote go to? I have right vote as am Scottish and have a Scottish address I ain't voting tho because I spend half my year sometimes more abroad with work and think it would be unfair.I couldn't give a toss either way really too

I wouldn't read into all these so called polls and whatnot that have popped up. It's barely any wonder that Sky have picked up on it, it's something to keep the news very busy for the next few weeks!

Most of the polls are internet based and completely liable to interference. Yougov which called the yes vote is now edging into the lead is based upon those dodgy 'survey' type companies which pay people money to look at adverts. Yougov also chooses who can take part in the survey, how they do that I don't know but I'd bet it isn't completely random!

The word from my Scottish pals is that they are all voting no and are desperate to stay in the UK. I think it will be close but after next Thursday Scotland will remain very much a part of the UK.

It'll be absolute chaos if they go solo. Salmond's crew don't seriously think they'll win and haven't got proper plans in place. They're just doing a UKIP, tapping into nationalistic bluster when times get hard.

I hope they don't win but if they do then I hope our government is strong and offers them no help or favours. If they want to go it alone then let them, I think they'll live to regret it.

we were in Glasgow Friday to Monday ,my daughter went to Edinburgh uni when she left school got a good degree in history & politics got a good job as journalist and has been there 14 years now married to a scouser with a young family she is a definite no he is a solicitor that deals in the social problems people have so he is more swayed towards the yes vote (more legal aid ). there are lots more yes votes posters in peoples front windows and badges people are wearing but my daughter said the silent majority would come out on top people feel being a no voter is being anti Scottish and pro English so they keep there gobs shut

Interesting to read Standard Life's announcement today that essentially means that they would become a British not Scottish insurer overnight should there be a Yes vote.

This would only be a move of the board initially but how long before the admin centre moves south? Multiply that by the number of other Scottish insurers and you have plenty of jobs being lost. Good job Mr Salmind has promised to create 1000s of jobs because they will be needed.

As Malcolm might say: "Stay the fuck in or fuck the fuck off"

There was a really good piece in The Independent today that told of how a 'Yes' vote would be a catastrophe administrative wise to Westminster (Soz, can't post a link).
Smacked of Westminster having done nothing to even imagine that result.

This is what I don't get:

Bank Of England - no currency union
Chancellor - no currency union
Salmond - there will be currency union

Dear Alex, if you vote yes and fuck off, you don't have a say if you can use the pound or not. You can ask, but the above stances seem to suggest you can fuck right off. Back to bartering and groats methinks.
