To be honest, moomba, kiam has a point. Life is about ups and downs, and sometimes you have to wait or make sacrifices for things. I had to wait 30 years to get my first season ticket because I made sure the priorities like mortgage and pension payments came first. I just attended as many games as I could afford. Hopefully I'll have a nice long latter end of my life supporting a winning team and travelling the world following the England cricket team. Or I might end up under a bus tomorrow and regret my choice. Other people live for today and might find it harder later. You takes your choices ...

City are pretty fair with season ticket prices, in my opinion, in comparison to other top teams in England.

No he doesnt have a point at all. For many people it's not just a matter of saving a bit extra. It's such a ridiculous and naive view of life. And if we want to remain a club for the people, for our supporters I don't think we can carry on increasing prices year after year as we have been doing.

The club doesn't care about the supporters or people. What it wants is a full stadium with people paying the maximum amount of money possible. If they can get 50,000 people in who would each pay £10,000 a year for a ticket then that is what they would do.

The prices will continue to go up around 10% until the demand for season tickets drop.

I suspect you are right.Rags did it years ago and we laughed at the effect it had on their supporter base. We do it and people get called out for "moaning about poverty"

Prices going up and businesses maximizing profit - whatever next!

I'm afraid this is the way of the world, I'd love it not to be so, but it is and there's not much we can do about it. Some people will pay £1000 for an Apple laptop and some people will pay £300 for a Windows laptop that does pretty much the same thing. Some people only buy footwear with a certain logo when you can get footwear that does the job at a fraction of the price.

You have a choice - either deal with it and maximize your income by getting a better job, retraining, winning the lottery, spending less OR get out of the rat race. It isn't going to change soon.

WRT City's prices, they're competitive, but agree they'll only go one way. What the club need to do is devise new ways of engaging with supporters and giving (let's not beat about the bush here) poorer fans the ability to attend as many games as is feasible, which they are intending doing with that guy they introduced at halftime against Villa. Individual tickets should NOT be the price they are.

If you had been going for 20 years and all you could afford this time was £5 for your ST do you think the club should agree and only charge you that £5. What about all the people who could not afford to go but wanted to when it was in your price range but not in theirs?

Annoys me when I see people on here crying poverty.

Just a thought but save some money FFS! £600 is £11 a week saved over the year. The problem is most moaning on here are out every Friday getting pissed, smoke or spend it on pies on their lunch hour at work.

Stop moaning and plan ahead.

Our season tickets are great value just save each week so it doesn't come as one £600 hit not hard is it!?

There is perhaps a point in there somewhere but for Kiam to assert that most people moaning get pissed every Friday, smoke and eat pies for lunch (presumably he thinks they should eat gruel) is ridiculous. I doubt he knows very much about what most people on here do or don't do and why they might plead poverty. He is just being a judgemental dick.

Yes, that is true - comes across as very judgemental, indeed. Thought most people were crack addicts, myself:)

You might see the club as just a business. I don't.

I'm afraid this is the way of the world, I'd love it not to be so, but it is and there's not much we can do about it. Seeing as 99% of football supporters wouldnt change the club they support it's not really a good example. If I would only buy an Apple and they kepton raising prices I'd stop buying new laptops all together.

You have a choice - either deal with it and maximize your income by getting a better job, retraining, winning the lottery, spending less OR get out of the rat race. It isn't going to change soon.

I'm happy with the job I've at the moment, but thanks for the career advice anyway.

I agree individual prices are ridiculous. I wanted to take my daughter to the Hull game earlier in the year. The cheapest price for a ticket was £27. For a 5 year old. But ST's are just as bad at the moment. I'm pretty sure mine has gone up £300 in the last 3 or 4 years.

I can't see any mention of digital programmes being part of the season ticket this year. Will they be an extra cost on top of the ten per cent price hike or is it just taken as a given that they are included?

I noticed this too. Not seen anything. Anyone know?

No, but I don't think continual rises above the rate of inflation should be something that supporters stand for. Sadly we have to many supporters that just accept a shafting.

Or still see value for money when it is in front of them (swings and roundabouts)

I'm not talking about the people that pay what they are happy to pay. I'm talking about those that criticise others for seeing the price increases as too much.

"Get a better job", or "stop eating pies". Utterley clueless.
