Build it they will come. (If you charge the right prices.)

I think the year-on-year price rises for many are just too much. About 15% too high if you want my honest opinion.
Two different people whose information I trust have told me now that 12-15,000 blues gave up their season tickets during the Pearce years and they have never came back.
I think the main reason is price. We do not live in London and generally do not get paid London wages.

Small time short term thinking

This extension isn't just for the next couple of seasons you bulb

It's a long term vision..build it and they will come
 
I'd also say that if we signed a few really top players it will really push those who want to buy a ticket into buying one.

Those seats at the back of the 3rd tiers have always been mainly match day tickets, and for most games do sell out. For a lot of games last year the stadium would almost sold out until the away team returned the 3 blocks on the second tier. If the problem of away fans not attending could be solved then Evey game would have sold out last year.

Lower the prices
And now with the pricing restructure they will be able to,sell the seats at the back of the third tier for a lost less

As pointed out, we may have wanted 10k for individual sales because we need more fans coming through the turnstiles (not just the same people every week) if we are looking to sell out a 62k capacity ground within a couple of years.

So any who disagrees thinks small time? As has been pointed out, buying tickets each week is viewed as a bit of a hassle and in my opinion the club would prefer fans to commit for the full season. Furthermore it would reduce the admin costs of taking bookings, issuing tickets etc.

Anyway taking 12000, plus 3000 of a capacity of 54,000 means in your opinion season ticket sales will be capped at 39,000. Let us see if this is the case and who the bulb is.

I agree that we were virtually sold out every week. However, there has been a movement of some fans from around the ground to the new South Stand L3. Thus making the tickets in areas that were hard to shift more difficult to sell!

I reckon there will be 42ish thou season ticket holders in total leaving the rest for open sale...considering our trajectory it's not rocket science to believe our popularity will increase is it?

Or do you really think all our fans come from Stockport?

I think 10,000 tickets is a lot of tickets to shift on a match to match basis particularly when we could get returns from away teams. When you think some away team brought less than 1000 suddenly you may have 12,000 tickets to shift for a Bournemouth/West Brom on a Wednesday night. . Easy when the ground is heavily oversubscribed but not sure we are in that position as yet.

Still either way it a very exciting time for the club and one to look forward too.

42,000 seems a more realistic number, so not 12000 then? Personally I think the club would like more. I have no doubt our popularity will increase. But my point about the administrative side and the fact that walk in sales will cherry pick the larger games still stands. You only have top see the difference at the demographic of the Champs League games to a West Brom/Stoke at home. For the club I think they will want guaranteed bums on seats.

No not Stockport. Statistically Tameside has the highest number of season tickets per head of population.

Good point. Linked to that, if the Club prices individual tickets too highly (except for rags and Chelski) it could piss off Blues trying to sell tickets on the new in house exchange.

Do you not think though that as our fanbase/demand increases that fans will start going to games where they have a more realistic chance of getting a ticket? Therefore increasing the gates of the less popular fixtures currently?

Yes overtime possibly, but not next season. We have more availability next year than previous seasons and yet in the previous seasons we did not see the demand filtering down to the smaller games due to other matches selling out. I am sure it will happen, just think the club would prefer more season ticket holders in the interim.

Can I just point out a few things I have learnt today.

7 million people live within one hours drive of Manchester

128,000 more people will live in Manchester City centre by 2025

The Airport development is the largest in the uk since the Olympics in 2012

Manchester hotels have an 80% occupancy

70% of graduates remain in Manchester after graduation - that is currently 154,000

The City and North of England is growing and growing fast - lots and I mean lots of people have not been able to get to games because getting a ticket has been a hassle and expensive. More young people will want to watch us as we win more and have players like Pogpa and Aguero etc etc and be associated with our success.

The stadium even at 62,000 is nowhere near big enough for where we will end up. I remember us playing Millwall at Maine Road and winning 3-0 (Nigel Spink in net for them ) and we had a crowd of 29,000 and thinking where will we get another 19,000 from.

Just 15 years later and we will have an average gate above 53,000 next year. I am very confident that I will (within 10 years) watch City at this stadium in front of regular 70k plus crowds.

bang on ,the club is thinking 20/30 years down the line ,we are run by people with vision ,its why they do what they do , wish some city fans would get on board

Again that could possibly affect match day sales if it was open to all. Over the previous season their has been a striking difference between the cost of one off matches in comparison to the cost per match of a season ticket. Those within the £299 seats maybe asking for £15 quid on the exchange for a lesser game while the club are trying to shift 10k tickets at significantly higher prices for the same match.
