Season Ticket Pricing as a result of Stadium Expansion

Was told its going up 2015 to over a grand .

Heard the 2000 figure off a guy at the club who I don't wish to reveal for obvious reasons.

Just passing it on .

Probably 2000 season ticket holders don't renew each year. And it's probably in line with every other club. It's not the same as losing 2000 fans a year.

-- Tue Oct 15, 2013 9:42 pm --

I really don't understand how the possible release of thousands of cheaper seats due to a stadium expansion has caused all this debate over pricing.

Accept that the club is doing something good. Moan about your own ticket price if it increases disproportionally when or if it does happen.
Why should I subsidise somebody elses ticket. My ticket goes from 450 to 750 in 4 years. Fuck that City your taking the piss but ive only just started going to games (1974).

How are you subsidising anyone's ticket? For starters you are guessing your ticket will be 750. Does your £450 ticket subside the current £299 tickets?

You pay for your seat as that's what the club charge to sit there. That price is not set at a level so other seats can be sold cheaper.

2000 non renewals is about 5% which is much better than most annual renewals in any sports club. Recall being told between 10& 15% the norm. Reasons range from death, marriage, other commitments, dissatisfaction etc

sounds like you should get your name down for a 299 ticket.

I will try to get one at 299 quid, not sure on how many will be available though mate.

There's 10 of us who sit together( moved from Maine road) all say if we could move together it would be ideal.

When we moved from Maine road they overlaid our seats onto a plan of city of Manchester stadium and ours fell exactly in the directors box so they moved us round to the opposite side of the ground similar positions so now level 2 east stand .

my upper ceiling for an SC is £1,000 within the next couple of years. Anything above that and I'm out.
Not because I can't afford it but because I can put that type of money to better use with my family.
I'm a match going Blue since '67 and a season ticket holder for 25+ years. But there is just no way I am paying
over £1K a year to watch City regardless of who plays for us and what we win. I'll become a SKY / BT Vision supporter instead.

I am with you on this one Ray.I paid £550 this season and think that it is still good value. Broken down over 19 games this equates to just shy of £29 per game..Excellent value still.
My celing would be £1000 I think as justifying it to my wife etc would be a little tricky.
I am 100% sure the club are aware that the majority of our fans are working class people without large sums of money spare. Totally different fans to Arsenal/Chelsea etc. The geographical area aswell means incomes are a lot less.
It is certainly divisive the cost of football however I still believe it's about choice. I choose not to smoke or drink heavily. I could not imagine paying £7-£8 per week for one packet of fags...multiply that by 2 or 3 packets per week....£80-£100 per month...£1200 per year on ciggys....
It's easy for people to complain...And I know it isn't easy to give up at times.

Should have said has gone up from 450 to 750 in four years, now in 2 years time my same seat will be at least £1150. For the fans my fucking arse.
If youve been to the Emirates youll realise in a couple of years time we will have a sterile quiet stadium, such a shame but i suppose with sucess comes sacrifice just a pity its the real fans that suffer

So you don't think anything the club are doing, anything at all is for the fans??
You pay £39.47 pence approx for your 19 games each year...Is that excessive??I think not...

My seat is going up to over a grand .......!

The wifi facility will be there, bands outside etc etc etc.

We have won the title, cups, beat the shit in the derby etc etc

We've got New York city as our second club.

All superb stuff it's impossible to disagree.!!!

But here's the thing..... I will not pay 1k to watch football end of story. + travel+ beers etc

Football used to be a hobby that cost a few quid ,it's now turned into an event 20 times a season that is akin to going to a stadium music gig event .where fans are" monetized " to squeeze every penny out of them.

Things are changing and times are changing that much is clear, we have City fans slagging other city fans because they don't earn enough to go to matches....( sounds like arrogant scum fans to me tbh).

My ticket will go to some corporate or " tourist" and I'm sure they will not improve the atmosphere.
.

Four years ago, we were informed about the changes that were going to take place on L2
My Seasoncard at that time was in block 205, right next to the corporates and I knew that the cost of the seat in that area was going to triple, so I took the decision then to relocate
Why don't you do the same, or do you believe that for £600 you should have the best seat in the house?

Why do you rant about the football being an event, then complain about the fact you buy beers?
If it's just about the football, buy a lower priced season card and don't drink

The club state that they desire to keep and I quote " the hard core support from Manchester" despite losing 2000 per year, and are " looking at sound and noise levels hoping to improve this , to that end are bringing in acoustic experts"( same as the scum).

Thomas cook are bringing in groups from the east , Japan and a Belgian delegation to watch vinny.

So to the ones slagging other city fans off ...... Enjoy the future you'll be sat there in your own smug world with your new best friends .

Welcome to the 21st century. It appears that you are living way back in the 1960/70`s.

If you have seats in the expensive areas of the ground as i do East lev 2 then it isn't as easy to move as you think. Most people as i do have friends who sit beside them and have done for years. Therefore you all need to move at the same time and get seats together.

The club do not make it easy for this to happen for a group of say 10 people so you are stuck. You also have the additional problem of not being aable to bring any new family members because they can not get the seat next to you.

I will stop goinfg when I decide it's to much or my friends decide the same - when they stop going so will I. City is a social event for me as well as supporting the team.
